Good morning, and welcome to The Sunday Salon, first November edition.
Did all of those who were on Daylight Savings Time remember to turn back their clocks?
Usually I wait until the morning to do it, but I have SO many clocks that I decided to do it last night. I’m so glad I did!
These are only a small sampling!
This past week has been very exciting for me! I’ve been participating in NaNoWriMo, and I’ve been moving along at a nice pace. I haven’t done today’s words yet, but as of yesterday evening, I had finished 14,004 big ones. I did a lot this weekend; more than 3,000 words so far. Today I’m hoping to match that, but we’ll see.
Has anyone else reading this been participating? Are you jazzed?
As for the rest of my life, I didn’t think I would accomplish much reading, but I did my usual bit.
So what did I cut out to make time for the added challenge? Maybe some of my blog posts, although I did quite a few.
My Reading Week-Books Finished & Reviewed:
1) The Lost Hours, by Karen White – review
2) Bitter in the Mouth, by Monique Truong – review
3) The Shadow Man, by Mary Gordon – review
What have the rest of you been up to? I’d love to find out all about it…
Now I’m off to visit a few blogs, and then I’m going to pound out some words!
Have a great week!
Sounds like you accomplished quite a bit of writing! Good for you! When your next book is published you can catch up on all the “missed posts”. 🙂
And thanks for sharing your reading list too! The Lost Hours is going right on my TBR list!
Have a great rest of the week!

Thanks, Suzanne…so glad you could stop by. I love visiting and commenting on blogs. Sipping coffee, visiting blogs, commenting on those visiting mine. A perfect way to start the week.

Thanks, Mason…after I finished posting this morning (and visiting blogs), I did manage to add another 3,000 words to my totals. Now I feel like I can begin the week in good shape.
I’m glad to contribute to your wish list…LOL.

I’ve enjoyed Mary Gordon’s writing for several years, Alyce; when I like an author, I relish discovering more about the person behind the books.
After writing this post, I added more than 3,000 words to yesterday’s total.
Thanks for stopping by.

Impressive word count so far – congratulations! And reviewing all those books too. I don’t know how you do it, Laurel-Rain, but very well done. I am impressed.

Oh, thanks, Clare…I get up very early in the morning, a habit from my very long career in social work when I had to get up early.
Now, the things I do feel like fun and not work. So it’s easy.
All the words I’m writing now, though, are just in case I hit a slump…this happens to me halfway through a WIP. So I’m “banking” my words for that inevitable day.
Glad you could stop by.

Thanks, Andrea…I figured I might as well do it. I’ve been working, rather erratically, on a couple of manuscripts, but I’ve lost interest. And it’s been two years since my last book came out. It was time.
I liked having a new project to focus on with a deadline.
Glad you could stop by.

Yes, I feel good about it so far. I’m trying to get way ahead, for those inevitable slumps that I’m sure will arrive…
Thanks for stopping by, JoAnn.

Thanks, Marie…I also have another one, off to the left and not pictured. The clock arrangement started with the round one on top, which I had in my work office for awhile. Then the others showed up on sale in my favorite shop, so I grabbed them, knowing that my collection frenzy would now be satisfied, just when I had moved into this place with a perfect spot over the mantle.
Glad you could stop by.
