Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
My week was definitely cooler, with temperatures in the 80s….and even a couple of rainy days. I curled up in my nest and read…but I still only read three books. My total for the challenge this week is now up to 82...since one of the books I read was a NetGalley ARC.
What did I do instead of reading nonstop? Well, I am binge-watching Nurse Jackie again…and some shows and movies on my DVR. Now I’m also looking forward to the fall TV season...and my reading may drop even more. Or not. I’ll be continuing to read my NetGalley ARCs. I have one more to read by the end of September, and have two more in October. An author review book is headed my way, and I also have an Amazon Vine review book to devour.
I had lunch with my daughter on Thursday…and then had a manicure. The first time I left the house this week!
Next week, remember that Bloggiesta is coming! 9/21 through 9/24.
Let’s look at my blogging/reading progress, while we sip some more coffee. Here’s where I curled up to read this morning.

That was my week. What did yours look like? Here’s what I had to drink on Thursday while waiting for my daughter to show up for lunch.

I’m enjoying Nurse Jackie, too. It cut into my reading time yesterday. I couldn’t stop watching. LOL The Elizabeth Berg book looks really good. I hope you have a great week!

Thanks, Yvonne; I love the short episodes in the Nurse Jackie series, which means that I keep watching long after I should probably stop! So far today I’ve watched all afternoon, and also every night this past week.
I love Elizabeth Berg’s books…so I’m excited about this one. Thanks for stopping by.

I am glad you got some rain! It rained on my way to work one day earlier this week, but was finished by the time I got out of my car. I’m enjoying the cooler weather. It means opening the windows in the evening.
I love the cover of Elizabeth Berg’s book. And what a great title! I may have to check that one out. It sounds good. I really want to read Little Fires Everywhere. I almost bought it today, but decided to go with paperbacks so I could make my gift card go farther. I hope you enjoy your new books!
I hope you have a great week, Laurel-Rain!

Thanks for visiting, Wendy; I am psyched about getting into the books I’ve recently purchased…and also the ARCs that are patiently waiting.
Rain is welcome and needed, but I always freak out a little when we have a bit of a storm, which we did. I walk around looking for leaks or problems with the skylight (which I’ve had in the past). No leaks so far…and that’s something I’ve had frequently in other rentals, but not this one. Skylight still intact, too. Knock wood.
I am excited about the Elizabeth Berg book…I love her writing! I’m also eager to read Y, by Grafton. I hope you enjoy X.
Have a great week!

Ah, binging. One of my favorite activities lol. And glad to hear you had cooler weather! That must feel nice after those triple digit temps you’ve had. Your reading/ watching area there looks nice and cozy. 🙂
I’m seeing Little Fires Everywhere pop up on a lot of blogs, must be good. And The Blackbird Season has me wondering too.
Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend.

Thanks for stopping by, Greg, and I love spending reading time in my office on weekends. It feels like a break from the norm.
The Blackbird Season is good so far…and unusual. It’s kind of freaky in that the birds falling out of the sky trigger some other events for the characters.
I am loving my Netflix bingeing….and also hope to dive into Little Fires Everywhere soon. Cooler weather and especially the rain might help calm down all the forest fires.
Have a great week!

Thanks for visiting, Megan; there is something so crispy and energizing about fall, IMO. Love it! But in these parts, it is short.
Even though I saw every episode of Nurse Jackie when it was on Showtime, bingeing is so much more satisfying. No waiting for a week to drag by. LOL.
Enjoy your bingeing and reading!

Yes, so many lovely books, Cleo. The Blackbird Season is written in an interesting style, back and forth in time, but the dates appear at the heading of each section, so we don’t get lost. I’m eager to find out what is behind the mysterious “birds falling out of the sky” phenomenon.
Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by.

I’m glad you liked Little Fires Everywhere. I’ll tell you that, likewise, I enjoyed Souls at Night about the same. Hope you agree!
Enjoy this cooler weather. We had a few days of it after the hurricane (we always do…I don’t know why) but we are back in the 90’s.

Thanks, Deb, and I’m looking forward to Our Souls at Night, both the book and the movie (coming at the end of September on Netflix).
So sorry you’re back in the 90s. I am enjoying the 80s, but, of course, we never get smooth sailing to fall in these parts.
Thanks for visiting and have a great week.

Glad it’s a lot cooler – I would give a great deal to see 80 degrees – our autumn seems to have started very suddenly with the nights really nippy. The heating has even come on a couple of times this week:(. I hate the cold *sigh*. Love the look of that drink – your get-together with your daughter sounds marvellous. I’ve never had a manicure, though I’m a fan of painting my nails and I tend to keep them long as they grow so fast…

Thanks for visiting, Sarah, and I never had a manicure or a pedicure (except for special occasions) until I retired. I luxuriate in them now. LOL.
I like cool weather, and love visiting my youngest son at the beach where the temperatures are in the 50s and 60s. But I wouldn’t want below 0 temperatures. Brrrr.
Enjoy your week!

Thanks, Tanya, I should have shown the sofa in the photo, too! It is very comfy and makes into a bed. But it’s only been used a handful of times. I don’t have a lot of guests here. LOL.

Thanks, Kathy, and Little Fires Everywhere sounds fitting for the mountains near here…fires have been raging off and on through the summer.
We had a bit of a storm, too, which I don’t enjoy. A little rain is good…thunder and lightning, not so much. I worry too much about things crashing, or the roof or skylight leaking with all the wind.

Thanks, Majanka, and I’ve heard good things about the book, and I’m looking forward to the movie at the end of the month (on Netflix)…starring Jane Fonda and Robert Redford. From the book description, it sounds like it is full of sad and lonely characters.
I didn’t realize there was a book until Mary, at Book Fan, told me about it. She loved the book, so I had to find it and download it.

Thanks, Elizabeth, and I think my loving to stay home has a lot to do with all those years of having to go out there, to put myself into situations that were stressful…and then coming home to crash and feel relief. Being at home as much as I like feels like such a treat.
Enjoy your reading…and your Bloggiesta tasks. Yes, there will be more participants. I love seeing what others are doing. As you know, I go in for big cosmetic changes…LOL. But I have never backed up my blog. I’m afraid to do it…too technical?

Thanks, Katherine, and you’re right about not being able to stop bingeing with Nurse Jackie. I just finished the final episode, and then I cried. I didn’t want it to end that way; I knew how it would go, as I saw it all on Showtime, but when you binge, it seems to hit harder, IMO.
I loved the lunch…and the drink. Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting.
