Today I’m participating in Sam’s WWW Wednesdays. Here’s how it works:
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next, and/or what are you eagerly awaiting?

Currently Reading:
The Two-Family House, by Lynda Cohen Loigman, has captured my interest. The first few chapters were a little slow, although I was very curious after the prologue, which hinted at something secret…s0 I kept going.
Now it is all unfolding, and I’m wondering how it will play out.
Brooklyn, 1947: In the midst of a blizzard, in a two-family brownstone, two babies are born, minutes apart. The mothers are sisters by marriage: dutiful, quiet Rose, who wants nothing more than to please her difficult husband; and warm, generous Helen, the exhausted mother of four rambunctious boys who seem to need her less and less each day. Raising their families side by side, supporting one another, Rose and Helen share an impenetrable bond forged before and during that dramatic winter night.
When the storm passes, life seems to return to normal; but as the years progress, small cracks start to appear and the once deep friendship between the two women begins to unravel. No one knows why, and no one can stop it. One misguided choice; one moment of tragedy. Heartbreak wars with happiness and almost, but not quite, wins. Moving and evocative, Lynda Cohen Loigman’s debut novel The Two-Family House is a heart-wrenching, gripping multigenerational story, woven around the deepest of secrets.

JUST FINISHED:
Yesterday, I finished a memoir called Unsinkable, by Debbie Reynolds (click for my review). A quick and delightful read.
***
And on Monday, I quickly read Stealing Jason Wilde, by Dee Ernst (click for my review), another light hearted romp.
***
Finally, my favorite book this week: American Heiress, by Jeffrey Toobin (click for my review).

Eagerly Anticipating:
I do enjoy the the suspense novels of Nora Roberts, so I had to bookmark Come Sundown on Amazon today. It won’t be released until June 2017…sigh. But luckily, I have lots of books on Pippa that I need to read, too.

A novel of suspense, family ties, and twisted passions from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Obsession…
The Bodine ranch and resort in western Montana is a family business, an idyllic spot for vacationers. A little over thirty thousand acres and home to four generations, it’s kept running by Bodine Longbow with the help of a large staff, including new hire Callen Skinner. There was another member of the family once: Bodine’s aunt, Alice, who ran off before Bodine was born. She never returned, and the Longbows don’t talk about her much. The younger ones, who never met her, quietly presume she’s dead. But she isn’t. She is not far away, part of a new family, one she never chose—and her mind has been shattered…
When a bartender leaves the resort late one night, and Bo and Cal discover her battered body in the snow, it’s the first sign that danger lurks in the mountains that surround them. The police suspect Cal, but Bo finds herself trusting him—and turning to him as another woman is murdered and the Longbows are stunned by Alice’s sudden reappearance. The twisted story she has to tell about the past—and the threat that follows in her wake—will test the bonds of this strong family, and thrust Bodine into a darkness she could never have imagined.

So…that’s it for my reading this week….what did yours look like?

I’m interested in knowing how that Nora Roberts book turns out. She kind of lost me a while back when her romances took on a more suspenseful feel and started sounding the same. I used to love her, though; so I would love to get back to reading her.
My WWW Wednesday.

Yes, I enjoy some of her books more than others. I like the suspenseful ones that have a thriller feel about them. Thanks for stopping by, Deanna.

Secrets are always good… hope The Two Family House House is living up to its potential. And Come Sundown will hopefully be good, although it is hard to wait so long for a book. 🙂

Thanks, Greg, I do hate the long waits…but luckily there are other books to fill the void.
I just finished The Two-Family House, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ooh, I hope Nora’s new book is good. The Obsession kicked butt and is the best book of hers I’ve read in a long time.

The Two Family House has a great hook! Glad it’s picking up. Happy reading!

Yes, I loved the hook, too, Sam, and even though the secret was hinted at right away, the engaging part was seeing how it would be revealed…and when. And what would happen to the characters while keeping the secret.

I haven’t heard of any of these, but I think I’ve read a book by Nora Roberts once years ago, and I really enjoyed that. I can’t remember the title at all, so I might have to look it up 🙂 I hope the wait for Come Sundown won’t be too agonising!
Happy reading! 🙂
