Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
Today there was a slight breeze, and the 76 degree temperature felt wonderful. I had lots of errands to run, so I was grateful. One errand was to pick up my new eyeglasses. They are purple…
This week had some great reading, too, and I read/reviewed FOUR books! Two were review books. Now I have none that are due for reviewing anytime soon. January is the earliest release date…so, unless I add more books, I’m good for a while. Two were from the books I bought…bringing those totals to 69.
How did we arrive at Saturday already? My week has been one of TV shows, reading, and NO NETFLIX! I should probably get on the site and see if any of my shows have added new seasons. Yeah, that’s what I should do.
Here’s what I had for lunch today….
Let’s look at the past week…

That was my week…what did yours look like? Come on over and chat, let’s have a glimpse of today’s coffee and dessert:
***
Yes you should get on Netflix immediately! Ha ha kidding… good for you. I took a little break a week or two ago and it was kinda nice actually- got more reading done, that’s for sure. And to be honest I’m stil not on it much, even though I have shows waiting. It comes and goes. Glad you had a good day with mild weather, and a breeze too! It’s cooled right down here, although we did get low 70’s today- but they’re saying cooler next week.
Your lunches always look good. And I’ll bet Tori Spelling’s book is interesting…

Thanks, Greg, mostly I like celebrity memoirs for the photos…I even watched Tori and Dean’s crazy reality shows to see their houses and the kids. But the two of them got on my nerves…lol.
Enjoy your week, and I’m going now to check out Netflix….Thanks for stopping by.

A bit of a mix of fiction and non-fiction there this week Laurel. I notice Greg mentioned it getting cooler as well. It’s getting warmer here in Australia but… (hopefully) not too quickly. We’ve had some cooler mornings – or perhaps it’s my new spot on the hill – as there have been some nice breezes cooling it down.

Your hill sounds lovely…are you enjoying your new surroundings?
I like to mix up my reading, from thrillers to memoirs…and in-between, a few books about family dysfunction. Always page-turners for me.
Thanks for visiting, Deborah, and I hope you have a great week, with those cooler mornings.

Thanks, Kimberly, I loved the books I read this past week, and I’m loving this week’s already, too. The Diane Keaton book is giving me lots of insight into her as a person, not just an actor. Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting.

Yay, purple! Purple and red are my favorite colors, and my previous pair were kind of burgundy. Since they are like “decoration” for our faces, we must pick out colors we love. Thanks for visiting, Cleo, and enjoy your week.

Thanks, Grace, and I do enjoy those review books, but deadlines always freak me out a little, reminding me of my thirty-year career…lol. The Diane Keaton book is lovely, showing a peek into how her mind works and her thoughts on all kinds of things. Thanks for visiting!

Isn’t it wonderful to see well again? My lens change was minute, but just enough. I mostly need them just for reading, but that means most of the time, since…I do a lot of reading! Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting…I’m looking forward to The Dollhouse.

Great that you got so much reading done! I wish I could pound out 4 books in a week. I used to be able to do that because I had a job where I could listen to audiobooks all day – but no longer.

Thanks, Rachel, I don’t often get 4 books read…although there was a time when that was a regular thing. My time is divided now, between Netflix, TV shows, etc. lol. Enjoy your week!

Glad it’s becoming cooler and more manageable for you. It’s steadily getting cooler here, though still beautifully sunny – I cann’t recall a better autumn… As ever, you have had a great book haul – I’ll be intrigued to see what you make of Diane Keaton’s biography. Have a great reading and blogging week:)

Thanks, Sarah, I welcome the cooler weather, too; I loved snuggling under my comforter, which I haven’t done at all during the hot weather.
Diane Keaton’s book is lovely, as she shares her thoughts about life in general, aside from her actor’s life, although there are bits about those experiences, too. Will probably finish it today.

Your lunch and dessert look fantastic! I’m trying to slow down my TV watching a bit so I can get caught up on my reading but I can practically hear Netflix calling me! I’m so curious about the Tori Spelling book! I’m not a big fan of her but the book sounds interesting and I have the Diane Keaton book on audio. I’m really looking forward to it! Have a great week!

I’m loving Diane’s book, but sadly, no photos! But…still fascinating. Thanks for visiting, and have a great week.

What a great reading and reviewing week. I love that you have a mixture of fiction/non fiction reads, across different genres too. The Dollhouse has such a great cover. The Tori Spelling book sounds interesting, I’ve been a fan since the 90210 days! Enjoy!

Thanks, Amanda, and I’m enjoying my purple glasses….as for my reading, I do love how I’ve mixed things up. I’m almost finished with the Tori Spelling book, and I must say that she writes an engaging story. There are photos, too, which I always enjoy.
Celebrities can be annoying, and Tori’s reality shows were, at times, but there’s something about her that keeps me wanting to know more…guilty pleasure? She also isn’t afraid to “tell it like it is.”

Thanks for visiting, Colletta, and I love picking out glasses, too, although it had been a while. For the last few lens changes, I keep my Italian-designed frames, because I loved them. But it was time for new…and it is hard to pick. I saw the ones I ended up with first, and then tried about 20 more before returning to my purple frames with bling in the corners. lol. Enjoy your week!

Okay, teasing us with those lovely pics of your meals– yum, lol! You always choose the nicest platters.
I have The Kept Woman on my kindle, and while Karin Slaughter is an auto-buy/borrow author for me, I don’t know why I’m dragging my feet on it. Possibly because I got burned by her last stand-alone and the incredible violence against women in it that made me depressed. I do love Will Trent, so will have to pick it up soon and “forgive” the author for abandoning her series for a few books 🙂
I am intrigued by Tori Spelling, don’t know why. There is just something about her life that is beyond description. From her overwhelming childhood in mansions, to living downsized with a child born every year or two, and a cheating husband, and public meltdowns– I can see her being a guilty pleasure. I haven’t read her books or viewed her shows but when I see her name mentioned online I do read about her.
Have a great week reading!

I feel the same about Tori, although I do get annoyed with some of the reality shows and the public fighting…and Dean is not fascinating to me. LOL. But the kids and the houses and being the daughter of Aaron Spelling: those aspects do draw me in.
I just finished the book…in two sittings. Very engaging…and it was published three years ago, In People magazine recently, I read (and saw pictures) of her pregnant with Baby #5. I wonder what book will come next?
Thanks for stopping by, Rita. And that last Slaughter book, Pretty Girls, was pretty brutal. I did enjoy it, though…and I’m not sure that I’ve ever read one of the Will Trent series, so I’m looking forward to this one.
