Today I’m participating in Sam’s WWW Wednesdays. Here’s how it works:
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next, and/or what are you eagerly awaiting?
***
Currently Reading:
I am thoroughly immersed in Small Great Things, by Jodi Picoult. With richly layered characters and a gripping moral dilemma that will lead readers to question everything they know about privilege, power, and race, Small Great Things is the stunning new page-turner from #1 New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult.
***
JUST FINISHED:
All the Ugly & Wonderful Things, by Bryn Greenwood (click title for review), was a story that gripped me, changed my perspective on a few things, and kept me reading to the powerful ending.
***
EAGERLY ANTICIPATING:
I received this surprising read from NetGalley, to be released 3/28/17. I have it tucked away on my Kindle and can’t wait to start reading it. But I will wait a little while, closer to the release date. I think. If I can!
Almost Missed You, by Jessica Strawser, is a powerful story of a mother’s love, a husband’s betrayal, connections that maybe should have been missed, secrets that perhaps shouldn’t have been kept, and spaces between what’s meant to be and what might have been.
Synopsis: Violet and Finn were “meant to be,” said everyone, always. They ended up together by the hands of fate aligning things just so. Three years into their marriage, they have a wonderful little boy, and as the three of them embark on their first vacation as a family, Violet can’t help thinking that she can’t believe her luck. Life is good.
So no one is more surprised than she when Finn leaves her at the beach—just packs up the hotel room and disappears. And takes their son with him. Violet is suddenly in her own worst nightmare, and faced with the knowledge that the man she’s shared her life with, she never really knew at all.
Caitlin and Finn have been best friends since way back when, but when Finn shows up on Caitlin’s doorstep with the son he’s wanted for kidnapping, demands that she hide them from the authorities, and threatens to reveal a secret that could destroy her own family if she doesn’t, Caitlin faces an impossible choice.

Each of these books has given me something to think about, from the one I’ve read to its satisfying conclusion to the one I’m hoping to read soon. What are you sharing?

If you can believe it, I still haven’t read anything by Jodi Picoult! So many people love her books I really must get round to giving one a try. I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying Small Great Things.

Yes, I have a hard time deciding whether or not to read it right away and write a review that I don’t post for a while. We’ll see how long I can hold out! lol
Thanks for visiting, Emma.

Thanks, Greg, so happy to have enjoyed it, too. It took a while to get through it, as I had many distractions, but i was always happy to get back into it.
The commenting issue has come up again since the weekend, so out of frustration, I contacted support…and just heard back. No solution yet, but they asked for the URLs of some of the blogs I tried to comment on. Here’s hoping!
