Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
Hello, October! Now…let’s see some of that fall weather. According to the weather reports, we will be at 77, 72, and 68 through Monday. Now that’s good news! (I’m sure the temps will go up again before we’re done, but I’ll take this gift of a cooler weekend).
This week has been busy, with something going on every day except Thursday. Looking at potential new places; getting my flu shot; ordering new eyeglasses, with new frames; lunch with an old friend at Olive Garden….and I managed to read and review three books. My Read the Books You Buy Challenge total: 65!
Netflix: Finished Offspring and Season 5 of Longmire. Now…need something new to hook me! Of course, the fall TV season will fill in nicely. I’m already loving Notorious and How To Get Away With Murder...plus, Grey’s Anatomy threw a curve at us.
Today I plan to do a little cleaning up around here…and maybe some purging? Just in case? I did sign a short-term lease for this place, as I haven’t found anything that grabs me enough to make that move…yet. But it won’t hurt to purge a few things…again.
Now let’s have some more coffee…and chat about our weeks.

That’s my week…what did yours look like? Come on by and let’s chat. Oh, and here’s something lovely I enjoyed at my lunch this week…
***
Oh Laurel, so many books I love the look of there. (I’ve got the new Chevy Stevens as well!)
I’m yet to sort out Netflix, I need Apple TV or something as my TV is old so isn’t a ‘smart TV’ with Netflix as an option – if that makes sense! But I must do so in the next week or two.

Netflix isn’t part of my TV; I hooked up a BluRay player to get it.
I’m excited about the books, too; both the Paula Daly and the Chevy Stevens.
Enjoy!

Okay that looks delicious. Is that at Olive garden? I’m having a little food jealousy now at the moment lol. Sounds like you’re thinking of making a move if it works out… good luck whichever way you go. I just watched the first episode of How To Get away With Murder and thought it was pretty good, so I’ll be continuing with that. That and Blacklist… although I can’t wait for a S2 of Marcella (if we get one).

Yes, Olive Garden…and the best part…it was a two for one. Buy one to eat at the restaurant, and another to take home. I don’t go there very often, but every time I do, I love it.
Thanks for stopping by, Greg, and I am eager to watch another season of Marcella, too.
You should watch HTGAWM from the beginning, on Netflix.
Enjoy your week….

I haven’t been to Olive Garden in a while…Now I’m hungry for it! I’m glad that it’s cooling down for you! I has been cooling down for me too, there are even some trees that are starting to change color! Have a good week! 🙂

Yes, I love fall and the signs of it, which we have had, even while the heat continued. But now cooler days are coming. Thankfully.
Thanks for visiting, Anna, and I don’t go to Olive Garden that often, but all it takes is several of those commercials, and I’m there!
Enjoy your week.

Purging and decluttering is always a good idea – I try to do that in our house every few months. Things just accumulate so quickly! Decluttering is time consuming, but so worth it, especially if you’re going to be on the move soon.
Three books is great, and it looks like you have some good titles coming up. Also, I’m intrigued by some of your new in titles. Have a great week!

So true about the decluttering! Just after one of my big ones, I remember thinking, “well, that’s done, now,” and here I am, a few months later, realizing once again that it’s never completely finished.
I enjoyed my three books, and I like the pace. Reading more seems to mean eliminating too many other things I want to do (like Netflix, lol). Thanks for visiting, Jade, and enjoy your week.

I am too much of a pack rat to every truly purge. Good luck! I like the look of pretty much all the books on your list. I just finished Fractured and really want to read The Trophy Child. Have a good week.

Yes, sigh, I do love surrounding myself with STUFF, which I call my collections. But every time I dust, I realize that I am adding more work by having so many things out…lol.
I can’t wait to read my new review books, but The Trophy Child and Never Let You Go aren’t released until next March! So it will be a while before reading them….unless I read them, write the review and don’t post it yet. That might work.
Enjoy your week, Emma, and thanks for visiting.

Purging seems to be my theme these days. I’ve been giving things to family members and friends first and then I set other items at the curb. It feels good.
LikeLiked by 1 person
We don’t have that curb service here, but my daughter has it where she lives. She put tons of stuff out right after she moved.
Purging seems to be an ongoing process…sigh. I have done mostly books in the last couple of years, but I’ve donated them to the library and to Big Brothers & Big Sisters.
Thanks for stopping by, Deb, and enjoy your week.

I don’t know where you find the time to get through all your books! Between work, blogging, life in general and family I am struggling to get two done a week! I’m in awe. 🙂
Have another great week!

Well, I don’t have the “work” aspect…reading and blogging and some writing are my work these days. That helps. Even so, I find my attention divided due to Netflix…lol.

I’ll be curious to hear if you like the Greenwood book All the Ugly and Wonderful Things. Judy over at Keep the Wisdom blogspot liked it quite a bit, but it does sound pretty druggy. Your lunch looks scrumptious. Enjoy your week & books!

Thanks, Susan, and I am enjoying the book….which, oddly, is not as disgusting as I would have imagined, with some of the characters very sympathetic; they seemed almost “innocent” in their behaviors. The story unfolded very slowly, against a backdrop of truly disgusting characters…so we had the “ugly” and the “wonderful” existing side by side.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week…it was a delicious lunch.

The weather in Sacramento is cooling down too. I hope it stays this way but October can still have warm weather. There are so many shows on Netflix I want to watch. I have it on our new TV so I just need to find time to watch. You have a great list of books and I’ve been wanting to read a Robyn Carr book (I have purchased some but need to get to them soon). I hope you enjoy your new books and have a great week!

It does indeed sound like a busy week! New glasses can be fun; I hope you enjoyed picking them out. Smart move on the flu shot, and thanks for the reminder; I need to get mine.
I read your post about whether or not to move. From that and what you wrote today, it sounds like you’re not sure if you should, or even if you want to. It makes sense to wait until you’re sure. I wish you the best as you think it through. You strike me as someone who can always make the best of whatever situation you find yourself in, so I suspect that whether you end up moving or decide to stay put, your home will be a positive and creative space for you.

BTW…I retrieved your comment from the spam folder, just as you had to do with mine! I wish WP would get it together!
