The slightly cooler weather gives me hope of actual fall days coming soon. It is supposed to be 85 today…but then 95 tomorrow. The week flew by, however, and looking back, I am hard pressed to point out any one thing that made it so hectic. There were appointments, of course, and those usually consume the days.
I only finished reading and reviewing two books this week, but I’m halfway through the third one. My Read the Books You Buy Challenge total: 63!
The Bloggiesta week ended with this wrap-up post: Bloggiesta: Finito!
Netflix: Still watching Offspring, now on Season 5; and Longmire’s 5th Season arrived! Hope to watch it this weekend.
Other activities included looking at houses in a neighboring village. I imagine a different kind of home, with beautiful floors and an updated kitchen. But then I look around at my STUFF (there is still a lot, despite my purges over the past couple of years)…and I feel hopelessly mired and unable to even get up and start the process. Unable to imagine the packing up and transporting everything, even with help.
In my fantasy, a Fairy Godmother would swoop in and everything would be transported to its destination. I would just settle in. Yeah, that’s going to happen! LOL.
Until that happens, I’ll have another cup of coffee and chat about my blogging/reading week. Here’s my breakfast tray, which I photographed on Thursday…but which looks the same every day. The stack of books is still there, not one of which has been read this week.

SERENDIPITY 
I can’t imagine packing up and moving right now but if a fairy godmother appeared and offered I’d take her up on it. We still have our kids’ stuff in the basement and a few bedroom closets. No one seems interested or is able to take it away at the moment. I’ll continue to purge my own stuff in the meantime.
I hope you enjoy the new ebooks. Our temps have cooled over the past few days. Do you have a breeze or is it quite humid in your area? Hard to believe its the last week of September!

Luckily it isn’t humid here, Mary, so that’s a plus. And there is a slight breeze, too, on most days.
I thought I had purged pretty well, but when I contemplate moving, I feel stuck in place. As if I couldn’t possibly do what is necessary.
I do think a new neighborhood would be a good thing…if I can somehow find that fairy godmother. LOL.
My daughter has offered to help, but I know that she’s so busy, and it won’t be enough. I’ll still have to do the organizing and arranging of things. Maybe I’ll put it off a while longer.

Yes, Cleo, just remembering my last move makes me want to hide and forget about it. It was exhausting and a nightmare, and I had movers! So…maybe I’ll just think about it tomorrow.

How did you enjoy Bridget Jones’ Baby? It looks like a fun movie, but I may wait for it to go to video (theaters are not cheap!). Have a fun week.

I hope it cools down soon. We’ve cooled off here- the days are still warm but the evenings and mornings are cool. In fact I’m convinced the temp change was partly responsible for me getting sick this week. Ugh.
Looking at new places is always nice, thinking what if? But yeah the packing and moving part- not so much lol. And I returned to Netflix this week as well ha ha so I’m a slave to the binging again…
Those appetizers look yummy! Hope the movie was good. 🙂

I have discovered that the longer I stay put, the harder it is to move. I used to move a lot. In the 70s, I moved fourteen times! I got good at it. Also, you tend not to accumulate a lot when you move frequently. I may have to really ponder this next step.
I’m on the sixth and final season of Offspring…and hope to get to Longmire’s Season 5 tomorrow. Yes, time suck. But I love it, especially on the weekends.
I enjoyed the movie…I try not to go to as many films as I once did, knowing that some are better seen on DVD or Amazon Prime…or Netflix.

I need a fairy godmother who loves doing floors. Do they exist I wonder?
I hope it cools down there soon, as long as it doesn’t get too warm too quickly here. It’s already getting warmer though the nights are still cool.
Offspring was really popular here and everyone went into conniption when it went off the air after a few seasons, so it was resurrected last year I think. (At least I’m assuming it’s the same show!)

I am now on Season 6 of Offspring, the final season available on Netflix…maybe another will be coming?
I got a little annoyed with some of the characters…they are so nosy and up in the middle of Nina’s business all the time (Jimmy and Billie, especially); now they are growing on me.

This past week seemed to be a bit slow for me, which seems strange because it was very busy. I Usually it’s the other way around. I’m not familiar with Offspring. I will have to look that one up. We watched a little more Once Upon a Time tonight. We’re still early in the second season.
I could use a fairy godmother just to come clean my house right now. It really needs it. I’ve been so busy that it’s hard to keep up. 😦

I tend to spread out, acquiring stuff, the longer I live in a place. For many years, I moved a lot. Then I started staying put: a house in the foothills, for thirteen years; and now this place, almost ten years!

Moving is a daunting prospect, especially if you’ve been in one place for a long time. How do we accumulate so much stuff?? When you find that fairy godmother, please direct her to my place after she’s done with yours!! I woke up to temps in the 30s this morning. Too cool, too quickly, but at least I can make a pumpkin pie now. The crab/avocado appetizer looks delicious!

Oh, it is definitely a prospect I don’t often think about…and after I sold my house, I decided to rent for a while. Well, the downside: they keep raising the rent. lol.
That’s what got me to thinking about moving. Not necessarily for cheaper rent, but for something more updated and new, at just a little more rent. (This place seriously needs updating).
On the other hand, it has some conveniences, like many great shopping places nearby; a garage, which a lot of places don’t have; and then there’s my stuff. Yes.

When I moved here, I vowed not to “spread out” as much as I had in my previous home (which was a larger space). Well, I didn’t accumulate quite as much, but still more than I like when I ponder moving. Thanks for stopping by, Kimberly, and I love Slaughter’s books.

We decluttered before we moved last year but I feel like I am drowning in stuff again. If I could find a fairy godmother could we share? I have heard good things about the Karin Slaughter book though no reviews. It does sound good.

Oh, how does that happen, I often ask? I guess I love collecting, and seeing stuff around me, especially things I love….it magically accumulates. I read a lot of books about hoarding a couple of years ago, and I don’t think I’m there…not yet, anyway. lol. But I could take a page from my minimalist daughter’s book.

This week was just pure craziness with work, annoying people, a sick pup and kids activities. I felt like sleeping all weekend but I couldn’t. My internal alarm clock is in full mode waking me up at 6:30AM on Saturday. Ugh… Here’s looking to a better week for all of us.

What a lot of interesting books you have listed here! I’m getting ready to read Cruel Beautiful World soon, too — it sounds lovely. Oh, and the hubby and I have just started watching (and loving) Season 1 of “Longmire” — don’t know why it took me so long to discover it. Have you read the books?

Thinking of moving!? The thought of the packing up is always worse I think than the actual doing of it, although I am stayed put now for 15 years and not thinking myself of moving, too nice and sunny here. Your temps sound relentless still.

The more I ponder the task and the upheaval, the less I think I’m doing it. Yes, I would love a nice, new place in a new neighborhood…but I’ve settled in here, and my routines are comfortable. (Actually, my daughter is pushing for me to move to a “senior” setting, but I’m not sure I’m ready for that, either). lol.
I moved a lot when I was young…and it was fun for a while, but lately, I love the coziness and familiarity of my place. Did I just talk myself out of it?

Oh, I know what you mean about all the stuff! Our move is still uncertain (looking at houses too!), but we’ve started the process of clearing/packing and it seems neverending. So I wish you luck! Maybe the cooler weather will bring a wind of motivation? 🙂

I think that the looking at places is fun, and I can get excited about the possibilities…but, I always hesitate when it comes to the upheaval.

It was feeling like fall here, but then yesterday it was in the low eighties and today it is supposed to be 88 and then it will cool down again. Everyone was out and about this weekend taking in one of the last warm days before Fall and Winter hit. How was Bridget Jones’ Baby anyway?

If I do move, I definitely want a moving company. Yes, my daughter and her fiance offered to help, but those situations are often very tense, and nobody does it the way you want (unless you can “order” them around, like the movers…lol).

Moving is such a huge task to accomplish. We got rid a whole living room of stuff before moving to the burbs. My week’s been good with the usual of drop off and pick up. The nine year old and I started our Park & Rec classes which are fun. Zumba is low impact but the instructor got me movin’ and I did sweat.

My son-in-law’s aunt moves every three years! I can’t imagine it, but it would help on accumulating things (I think!). I just saw the Kept Woman and look forward to it, wondering if it will be as creepy as Pretty Girls. Hope you have a great week.

We did frequent moves like that, back in the day. In the 70s, we moved fourteen times! I didn’t have time for anything to accumulate. And I didn’t think of it as a big chore, as it was fun changing up our space. Of course, I was a lot younger then…lol.
Now I prefer to stay put longer.

That’s the trouble with perhaps wanting to move, all the effort and hard work that goes in to the actual move – it’s a pain! We rent currently, but when we a buy a house of our own it’s very much going to be a ‘forever home’, because I don’t want that hassle afterwards!

I am also renting, after selling my house that I thought might be my “forever home.” I realize that I get restless, now and then, despite the pain of moving. So I decided not to buy this time. Plus…the market was bad, and I didn’t see anything I liked.
