Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
The weather has been very hot, but what else is new? I did curl up inside my air-conditioned space, reading and watching movies (saw The Boss, with Melissa McCarthy) and Netflix. I’ve been watching Doc Martin again. The folks in that little Cornish town are hilarious. Finished THREE books this week, and they were all different from one another, while being completely engaging. I love when that happens.
When I was up in Crescent City, I added Skype to my iPhone, since I didn’t have my laptop with me. We had hoped to connect with my eldest son in Prague while I was there, so my youngest son could also chat. But the timing was always off.
However, this week, my youngest son Skyped me on my iPhone…and it worked fine. Just like the laptop version. He is trying to set up a time to Skype with Eldest One. We even turned on our pictures and it was fun to see them in their living room, with Auggie (the dog), too.
In this photo from a while ago, Auggie’s the one on the right….LOL.
So…that was my week, and a tidbit from last week….so let’s look at a little bit more…

Thanks, Heather, I am looking forward to both! I still recall what I was doing in 1973 when the news broke about the SLA and Patty Hearst. (At my desk, doing my usual social work things).
Glad you enjoyed both! Thanks for stopping by.

It’s been muggy here even at night- and today we got bad storms and even a few tornado touchdowns. We didn’t lose power although a lot of people did. I like Doc Martin, I’ve seen a few episodes. I’ve also watched Happy Valley and MArcella on Netflix- have you seen either of those?
Nice pic- looks like new best friends. 🙂 Playing in the surf…
Behind Closed Doors looks good. I’ve been seeing that one around.

Oh, I loved Happy Valley and Marcella….the leading lady in Happy Valley is also in Last Tango in Halifax, which I loved, too.
I would enjoy more seasons for both of those shows.
I don’t like the sound of muggy or tornadoes.
Enjoy your week, Greg, and thanks for stopping by,

I enjoyed looking at Heather’s Mexico cruise photos and out of your three reviews of past week I guess Mystic Summer appeals to me the most right now. I loved the movie Mystic Pizza way back in the day, and I love Mystic CT, been there multiple times, especially the seaport and stop at Friendly’s afterwards for ice cream.
I also bought American Heiress, though the e-book. I was fascinated back in the day by Patty Hearst and when I heard about this one I told hubs I had to read it sooner rather than later 🙂
Rosemary looks good too; always wondered about that sister that didn’t get spoken of much.
Enjoy your week ahead and stay cool and relaxed!

I still recall what I was doing and where I was (at work) in 1973 when we heard the news about Patty Hearst. We followed the story and were astounded by how it all played out.
I ordered the print copy because I wanted to see the photos, and they don’t come through very well in an e-book.
The same reason for buying the hard cover of the Kennedy book.
It was fun for me seeing Heather’s photos, too, and that’s as close as I want to get to a cruise…LOL. Not a fan of “water, water everywhere!”
Thanks for visiting, Rita, and enjoy your week.

The Excellent Lombards looks good and is one I haven’t heard of before. Adding it to my list. If I Forget You looks good too and I’ve had the Rosemary book on my TBR for awhile. I need to get to it soon! Doc Martin sounds awesome. I’ve had it on my To Watch list for ages but haven’t watched it yet. Have a great week!

Thanks, Katherine, I am enjoying The Excellent Lombards, but, for some reason, it isn’t what I was expecting. At the moment, the MC is a pre-teen, but once I settled into her perspective, it was okay.
It took me a while to warm up to Doc Martin, as the characters are kind of strange, but in a funny way, and the doc himself is wooden, not very people-friendly. His personality has grown on me, too, and I feel sorry for him for being so “misunderstood.” I am starting Season 4, and the last season ended sadly. The Cornish setting is gorgeous, though.
Enjoy your week, and thanks for stopping by.
