Rain has been a regular feature in my days this week, which has been an excellent backdrop to my reading. I read and reviewed FIVE books, which is more than usual. All were engaging, some more than others.
I also made it through Season 2 of Wentworth on Netflix, and can I say I am addicted?

A rainy week for you, sounds like, and 5 books! That’s awesome. It’s been pretty bleak here all week, although the snow stopped. Now it’s sunny today. I like listening to the rain come down too, it can be relaxing. I think I’d rather have a rainstorm than any more snow! LOL.
The Gudenkauf book looks good, I keep seeing that around and I’m intrigued…

I like the look of both No One Knows and The Girls Laurel. Are you enjoying Wentworth? It’s the Australian series isn’t it? If so it’s a remake of a show I watched back in the 1970s (when I was probably too young to be watching such a thing!)

Yes, it is the Australian “Orange is the New Black”…LOL. I am quite caught up in it, and on the final season. Right now, the “governor” is a mean bitch.

The mimosa looks tempting, cheers ! I googled the recipe and saw it had been invented in Paris in 1925 ^^ I never heard about Wentworth but I’ll be looking it up when I have finished this com. That house on the cover of “The girls” is so beautiful, I’d looooove to take a peek inside. And also have a tour of the garden (park ?). Have a great week !

Yes, that garden on the cover draws me in…I imagine myself going out there to sit and read.
I don’t actually have a mimosa today, as I’m out of the ingredients, sigh, and too lazy to go out to the store. Interesting about the invention. I discovered them in the 1970s. LOL

You definitely had a great reading week! I’ve been reading the same book (City on Fire) for nearly three weeks now… it’s almost 1000 pages, but still feel like I’m not making much progress. At least I’m enjoying it. A Man Called Ove has been on a few blogs lately. I have it on my kindle, now I just need to make time to read it. Wentworth looks like an easy show to get hooked on!

A mimosa, a rainy week and all those new books sounds pretty good! Espeically if you didn’t have to leave the house. I love rainy days if I can stay home and observe it through the window! Lisa Jewell and Mary Alice Monroe are 2 authors I’m really wanting to read and A Man Called Ove has been calling me. Have a great week!

I’m planning on reading The Widow in February so I will be looking forward to hearing your thoughts on that one! I have No One Knows on my e-reader as well. I just watched the last season of Wentworth, after binge-watching all afternoon and evening. There are 3 seasons…I don’t know if there will be more. But it’s the name of a prison, set in Australia. I don’t know if it is a real prison. I am quite fond of listening to the accent at this point…LOL.
Sort of like Orange is the New Black, but the “governor” in the last two seasons was a psychopath, which made it all very suspenseful, not knowing what she would do next.

I was surprised to discover that it was set in Australia, but immediately loved it. I started developing an accent, or at least a use of certain words, like saying “mum” and “bloody” a lot. LOL.

Well, you’ve been a busy one!!
My book last week ending up being a DNF, and so I only finished reading the second book in The Chronicles of Narnia series, but I’m enjoying the book I’ve started this week on. I didn’t get much reading done over the weekend though because I discovered season 6 of The Good Wife on Netflix (I don’t know if I’ve been oblivious to it being up for a while or not) but I spent most of my spare time watching that.
I hope you enjoy your upcoming books and the great reading continues. I’m intrigued by your incoming books this week.

Thanks, Brandie, I try not to get too many NG books at once, but the release dates are staggered…however, that means I probably won’t be reading No One Knows until late February or early March…but there are plenty of good ones along the way.
