WEEKLY UPDATES: HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our new leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at The Book Date.

What a week it has been!  I curled up and read FIVE books, with reviews for all of them.  I haven’t had that great of a week in a while.  Yesterday I was reading My First Book of 2016, the event hosted by Sheila, at Book Journey, and visiting other First Books throughout the Blogosphere.  What fun!  This year was the THIRD event, and I look forward to many more.

Today, it’s back to the routine…with Saturday errands, but first I’m posting this, drinking lots of coffee in my new coffee pot that I had to buy midweek when the old one died.  It is just a plain old Mr. Coffee, but it’s RED, which I always enjoy.

  1. Coffee, the stuff of life. 🙂 Always nice to have a new one! And 5 books- very nice. I didn’t read any (hides) but there’s always this week… LOL. A little break, I’ll call it. Hope your holidays were great, and happy reading this week. Now that the holidays are over it’s kinda gray around here- January in Michigan. 🙂 Hope you’ve got sunshine!

    1. Thanks, Greg, and you are right about coffee….and there is nothing worse than expecting coffee and finding the pot has not delivered! So glad I live near Target…LOL.

You apparently needed that break…happy reading whenever you get the chance.

Our weather is mild, with some sun…but I keep expecting the fog, which usually descends this time of year. I’d rather have rain!

      Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Happy New Year! My week was nice and slow. I spend time on my blog and read as much as I could. Wish this week could go on for a view days longer.

It’s my first time on the Sunday Post and I’m super excited to read all these posts. So much fun..

I love your coffee maker.. great color! Enjoy your week!

    1. Yes, they are perfect together…but I may have overdone the popcorn…LOL. I have never read The Empty House, either, so I’m eager to dive in.

I feel cheerful when I go into my kitchen and see red things….Thanks for stopping by, Katherine.

    1. Thanks, Angelized1st. I love it, too…especially since it produces great coffee…LOL. My old one was slowly dying and then did fizzle out.

I love looking forward to new books for the week and the year. Enjoy yours!

Happy New Year to you as well! The Black Widow sure looks good, Laurel-Rain. I hope you are enjoying it. And I’m looking forward to reading Joshilyn Jackson’s latest.

You’ve got me craving popcorn now. 🙂 I wonder if I can talk my daughter into watching a movie today . . . One besides her two favorites. LOL

    Have a great week!

    1. I am addicted to the popcorn with movies, ever since my son and DIL were here in the summer….Now I think of how much fun we had with our popcorn and movies and I wish they could come back soon. But I know it will be a while.

Thanks for stopping by, Wendy, and enjoy your popcorn/movie time with your daughter.

Happy New Year! I’m so jealous you were able to read 5 books and write up their reviews. I had finished the last 2 books I needed to meet my Goodreads goal for 2015 so now I have to write up reviews. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your next book =)

    1. Thanks, Kathy, and I don’t often read and review five books…I was on a roll. Usually two or three are my speed. And for the next few weeks, I might be doing less reading as I try to achieve some balance…(My word for the year).

  5. Nice to curl up and read. Love the red in the kitchen! I haven’t heard of that Rosamunde Pilcher book, so will be going off to look it up as have enjoyed her books in the past.

    1. Thanks, I was on a roll last week…and as for my Mr. Coffee, It does make me smile, too, JoAnn…and I have had a red one before, but my last one was stainless steel…not as cheerful. LOL.

      Enjoy your week!

I got a new coffee maker also. My kerig died and I am one of the few that hated that thing. My family wanted to get me anothour one and I was like nooooooo it only makes a cup at a time AND you cant program it. So they got me a somewhat fancy coffee pot for Christmas.

    1. Oh, good to know! I have eyed the fancy machines a time or two, but the price tag keeps me going back to Mr. Coffee…LOL.

Enjoy your morning coffee…and your books, and thanks for stopping by, Hilary.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Kathy, and yes! Those things always die on us at the worst time, like just when you’re really craving that first cup of coffee…or, with the hairdryer, when you have wet hair and you’re in a rush. LOL.

I was excited to see a Pilcher book I hadn’t read…looking forward to it!

    1. Thanks, Stormi, I love seeing those red appliances first thing in the morning, and I am really loving my coffee these days…and as for Wendy Corsi Staub, I have read three of her books recently, and I can’t seem to get enough. Enjoy your week!

  7. I love your new coffee maker. I hope you enjoy your ebooks and I can’t wait to read your reviews for your upcoming books. I use to take part in the Monday post and then I stopped not sure why but I think i need to get back into it to keep track of what I am reading.

    1. Thanks, Cleopatra, I didn’t get much exercise while doing all that reading, though. I guess that’s part of the “balance” I am seeking.

I love the coffee maker, too…a very cheerful color.

    1. Thanks, Nise, and that sounds like a good plan…I probably should have realized it was on its last “gurgles” when it made a lot of noise while dripping…LOL.

I am eager to read the new Jackson book. Enjoy your week!

  8. Coffee is essential! The red pot only makes it more fun. I just replaced my very old, reliable pot because it didn’t have an auto-shutoff and I am afraid one day I’ll leave it on and cause a melt-down.

    1. Oh, wow, you had good luck with that pot…my Mr. Coffee pots seem to last around three to four years. Constant use, I guess. LOL. Thanks for stopping by, Leslie, and I agree that the red pot is fun.

    1. Thanks, Buffy….I don’t usually read that many either! This week, I’m only on my third book, and I’m very distracted by other things…Like today, I overslept! I got up at 10:30, which is unheard of for me….LOL.

      Enjoy your week….
