Good morning! Today’s post will link up to Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post, and Book Journey, for Weekly Updates.
**Mailbox Monday is now hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
Good morning, Bloggers! Grab some coffee (or a mimosa), and let’s talk about our weeks.
This weekend, I’ve been up to my eyeballs in Bloggiesta stuff. My focus this time was on my Curl up and Read site. I love how this event offers the opportunity to fix up the blog(s), and to connect with other bloggers.
Earlier, I went to see the movie This Is Where I Leave You, and it was every bit as delightful as I’d hoped. Great cast, lots of funny moments, and I am happy I read the book first.
HERE’S WHAT LAST WEEK LOOKED LIKE:

From the Interior: The Kaleidoscope Turns Again – Gone Girl
Let’s Take a Risk with Intros/Teasers – “Safe Keeping”
Hump Day Potpourri: Waiting for “Crazy Love You”

My Bookish (and Not So Bookish) Thoughts; Bloggiesta, Etc.

Now I’m going to curl up on the sofa and finish reading Quiet…and I also plan to watch some movies on my DVR. What did your week look like? What are you eager to read and blog about next?

Here’s a glimpse of my daughter in a gentler, more peaceful time….oh, what a difference a few years make!

Hello From the Gillespies by Monica McInerney looks good and the cover for Desolation Row caught my eye.
I don’t think I could watch This Is Where I Leave You, I don’t do well with movies about dying but this one has been getting good reviews. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

The movie is more about the family after the dying…and there were lots of funny moments. Thanks for stopping by, Bea, and I’m looking forward to the Gillespies book too.

Glad you enjoyed that movie, it doesn’t really look like something I would watch. I didn’t even know it was based on a book until someone mentioned in their review of the movie..lol. My poor DVR is going to be working over time this coming week with all the new shows and my old favorites..must watch all..lol.
Enjoy your reads!

Okay, I am officially bummed that I haven’t seen or read This Is Where I Leave You yet! Soon I hope. I read Lemon Orchard and Safe Keeping, and recommend both authors. I am interested in picking up Gillespies, having also seen it on Trish’s blog. Enjoy your tv watching and book reading today–Happy Sunday!

You can still read it…and the movie just came out! I read the book rather quickly, because it was so fabulous…IMO.
And if not now, the DVDs come out really soon these days!
After reading your review, I had to download The Lemon Orchard…and Safe Keeping will be my first from this author, but it’s a review book, so no money spent.
Gillespies is from another new-to-me author and looks so delicious. Thanks for stopping by, Rita, and enjoy your weekend.

You’ve added lots of great curl up and read books this week. I need to find more time to read, but checking out the new fall tv season is making it difficult.

I’m really wanting to see This is Where I Leave You and I’m glad to see you enjoyed the book first. I’ve been going back and forth between book first or movie first. You got some great books this week! Quiet is on my wishlist and I’ve heard some great things about it. I’ll be doing some DVR watching this week as well to get space cleared for all the new shows starting!

I am looking forward to Crooked River…Quiet had parts I enjoyed…and other parts were tedious, for me. Those parts reminded me of my psychology textbooks from college…LOL. And I’m so done with that!

So glad to hear you liked the movie of This is Where I Leave You! I loved the book, but wasn’t able to get to the theater this weekend. Hopefully next week…

I loved the movie, and it closely followed the book, which isn’t surprising, as the author had his hand in on the movie production. Thanks for stopping by, JoAnn, and I am so looking forward to The Paying Guests and The Lemon Orchard.

I’m so tempted to pick up Hello from the Gilespies from Vine but I dont’ have time to read it yet. I wish Vine gave more than 30 days to review. Hopefully it will still be available in a few weeks. I’m so glad you loved TIWILY. I think my husband and I will try to see it this week. I loved the book and I know the author wrote the screenplay so it should be good! Have a great week!

Yes, The Gillespies book has over 600 pages…so I may not be able to read many other books the week I take it on.
I don’t like those deadlines, either.
Thanks for stopping by, Mary, and I hope you love the movie as much as I did. I am glad the author wrote the screenplay, as the movie pretty much matches the book.

That’s an impressive line-up of books. I see a couple of new authors I need to check out.
I didn’t join the bloggiesta this year. I’m so busy catching up on my reviews that it’s all I have time to focus on right now. Hoping to resist new requests, but that’s probably not gonna happen. LOL
I haven’t been to the movies in quite a while. Most of my weekends are spent soaking up the sun and reading by the pool. The temperature is in the 90s now but won’t last too much longer so I’m enjoying it while it lasts.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely Sunday:)
