Another interesting week here, with slightly cooler temperatures (in the 90s!).  One of the books I read this week was in preparation for the movie released on Friday:  If I Stay.  I hope to see it some time this weekend.

And that’s my week!  Maybe I will pull another e-book off of Sparky to read…or maybe I’ll just hang out and go to movies.  No matter what, though, I think I’ll be having lots of iced tea.  What have you been reading, blogging, and doing?

  1. I can’t wait to see This is Where I Leave You. I so enjoyed the book when it was published. I hope you enjoy the film version of If I Stay! I just finished reading A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman – what an enjoyable read! Have a great week 🙂

    1. I have it planned so that I read the book before the movie release, which means next week, probably. I’ve enjoyed seeing the movie previews and know it’s going to be one I love.

Thanks for visiting, Mary, and I’m glad you liked reading the book, too.

  2. Good new-to-me-titles: Lila, Falling Into Place, and This is Where I Leave You. I read The Shadow Tracer, great as all Meg Gardiner books are for me. I just finished Ten Beach Road and enjoyed it so I will be making my way through all Wendy Wax books. Glad you are having a good week, a trip to the bookstore with your grandson and a trip to the movies too. Have fun and enjoy those books.

  3. I’d like together Falling Into Place sometime as I enjoyed a previous book by Amy. And the cover is quirky, it love it. I haven’t read If I Stay and the movie isn’t out here yet but I do plan on going when it does come, along with lots of tissues!
    Have a great week 🙂

    1. I’m curious about Amy Zhang…she is a high school student and already has published books. And yes, definitely a quirky cover. So far, the story is engaging. Thanks for stopping by, Trish, and if I get things done early enough, I’m off to the movie.

I’ve been meaning to read If I Stay for ages! Although, I probably won’t see the movie until it comes out on DVD. *shrugs* Still! Cellist! I love the cello so I definitely want to read about it. 😉 Happy reading!

    1. Sometimes I wait for the DVD….I guess it depends on what else is showing at the time. Thanks for stopping by, Cait, and enjoy your week. And I love the character in If I Stay….quiet, cello-playing, and a little nerdy.

  7. Silent Sister is on my wishlist. It looks great! I’m torn on If I Stay. I’m not a big fan of books that will make me cry but this one looks pretty great. The Wendy Wax looks great as well. Have a fantastic week!

    1. I did love the If I Stay movie…even more than the book, because bringing the music to life is possible in a film. Thanks for stopping by, Lucy, and I can’t wait to read and see the movie This is Where I Leave You.

    1. Oh, If I Stay was wonderful in movie format! Imagine the music you read about in the book…and then HEAR it.

I must have been living under a rock, because I only recently found out about This Is Where I Leave You, and then it was because of the upcoming movie release. So I definitely must read it quickly.

Thanks for visiting, Kay, and enjoy your week.

  11. Oh it was hot here this weekend too. For the first time I was wishing for an air conditioner. At least it cooled off in the evenings to make sleep easier.

Have a great week, I hope it cools off a bit!

    1. I agree, Pat…and I LOVED it! Imagine that…and I must admit that I loved the movie more…because there was music. All those musicians in the story…and only imagining their sound while reading. And then being swept up into it.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  13. I’ve only just become aware of If I Stay – I saw a trailer for the movie a few days ago, then realised it was based on a book and wondered if I should add it to my TBR pile. I never know whether to read the book or see the movie first 🙂
