  1. So many good books–busy week posting for you!
I see a Jonathan Kellerman, and I have read every one of his books except for missing I believe the last 2 or 3. He and I go way way back 🙂
Tears and Tequila looks unassuming by the cover, but I read the blurb and it sounds like a good one. What caught my eye was the recommendation from the president of the Cantor-Fitzgerald relief victims foundation. As a former NYer, I know that C-F had offices at the top of one of the Twin Towers where the plane hit, and lost the most lives of any business. My family knew a few people from that company that didn’t make it, so if he says it’s a good read, that’s high praise.
Thanks for the spotlight on some titles I didn’t know before: Tears & Tequila, Falling into Place, and The Perfect Stranger (I’ve read all but the last 3 WC Staub books too, I shared them with my eldest).

    1. I think I remembered my love of Wendy Corsi Staub from your blog, Rita….and realized it had been too long since I’d read one of hers. I have also missed some Kellerman books over the years. This one was on the bargain table, and before I could buy it, I had to run home and check my Goodreads page, to make sure I hadn’t already read it! LOL

I also am looking forward to Tears and Tequila. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week.

      1. Ha! A true book addict and bibliophile–“Excuse me folks while I run home and check out my 7,542 books on my already read list on Goodreads before I purchase this bargain book”.
It’s like when I went to the Friends of the Library fill up a bag sale. I made the *extreme mistake* of taking along my daughter (who doesn’t read!- where did this child o’ mine even come from?). We were going to the mall afterwards. She got impatient and started skimming titles for authors she recognized from my shelves.
        “How about this one, Mom?”
        “Read it”.
        “How about—”
        “Read it”.
“Then why are we even here!?” LOL

      2. Yes, hilarious, huh, Rita? However, since I live around the corner from Barnes & Noble, literally within walking distance, it was no big sacrifice to do that!

Did you wonder what I was thinking to move into the same neighborhood as a bookstore and a movie theater? Guilty pleasures on every corner!

    1. I try not to read sad books too often…or I mix them up with lighter, happier ones. I don’t usually read YA, but I want to see the movie coming out this next week. Thanks for visiting, Angie, and enjoy your week.

  2. One of my friends and colleagues is a huge fan of Jonathan Kellerman, so I hope you’ll enjoy his books. It’s grey and bordering rainy here, the perfect day to cuddle on the sofa with a nice cup of tea, a book and a cat 😉 Enjoy your week !

    1. I have read Kellerman for years, but hadn’t read anything recently, so I was happy to find this one on the B & N bargain table. Who can resist a bargain?

Thanks for stopping by…grey and rainy days are good ones for reading.

  3. Hope your movies were good, that sound like a nice weekend. Our temps have been unseasonably mild here , and for mid- August. very surprising summer. Hope you enjoy your reads this week.

    1. I’ve mostly been watching older movies, like oldies with Diane Keaton…but I’m also watching Sunshine State on my DVR. I watch for a while and then switch to something else, or to reading. I never seem to sit through a whole movie on the DVR. Thanks for visiting, Greg.

      1. I didn’t expect to like it so much (given the issue with the mother) but the author is a wonderful writer. I didn’t want to put it down!

  4. Wow! Great books this week! I have read a Wendy Corsi Staub in forever but I always enjoyed her books. I’ve had Whiskey Beach for forever but have yet to pick it up so I look forward to seeing your thoughts on it. Save the Date is already on my wishlist so I look forward to seeing what you think of that one as well. Have a great week!

    1. I saw one of Staub’s books on a blog last week (Rita’s, I think), and thought: I haven’t read her in ages. Time to change that. I have also had Whiskey Beach on Sparky for a while….I’m loving Saving the Date and even though it has 500 pages, I’m guessing it will be finished soon. Thanks for stopping by, Katherine.

    1. I was thrilled to enjoy Belzhar, as even though I have loved several Wolitzer books, the YA aspect gave me pause. But lately I’ve been dipping my toe into that genre. Thanks for visiting, JoAnn, and I agree about Italian Wife.

    1. I remember when I first saw Wife 22 around, and I planned to get it, but then other books came along and I forgot about it. Then it was a discounted e-book, so I took the opportunity to get it; now I can’t wait to read it. Thanks for visiting, Susan.

  6. So many interesting books, I have been curious about If I Stay since I have seen previews for the movie, but if it’s sad I don’t think I would read it..lol. I don’t like make you cry books and the movie sounds sad. (Doesn’t mean the ending could be good though..lol) Thanks for stopping by my blog!

    1. I have just a few more pages of Save the Date, and I have savored every page! I should start on If I Stay today…I also wanted to read it before the movie. I know, not my usual genre, but after reading and loving the movie of The Fault in Our Stars, I have turned a tiny corner. LOL

Thanks for stopping by, Nise, and enjoy your week!

    1. I stumbled on the Alex Delaware on the bargain table at B & N, so it’s been out a while. I even thought I already had it, so I had to go home and check my Goodreads page…so silly. I had just put it on my tbr list.

I am excited about soon reading The House We Grew Up In. Thanks for stopping by, Shelleyrae…enjoy your week.
