  1. Triple digits… I wouldn’t like that. We have 80’s now and I’m good. 🙂 Buried in a Bog looks like it would be good… and We Were Liars, I was thinking of that one but wasn’t sure. Your review is sort of nudging me towards giving it a try. 🙂

    1. I would love a steady 80s…I could deal with that year round. When I lived in San Francisco, we enjoyed moderate weather, sometimes cool, but that’s okay, too. Thanks for visiting, Greg, and I loved We Were Liars. I also like the look of Buried in a Bog.

  2. Oh Laurel, I am grabbing my notebook because all your titles are so good this week! I want to read California and Dear Daughter, and have to read the second Nicci French in this series to carry on. Great wins this week-what a lovely surprise from Book Journey.

I read Buried in a Bog and am reading her second in the series, Scandal in Skibbereen right now. They’re quiet, easy-reading cozies, but the setting makes them so enjoyable for me. Light breezy, mild mystery, sweet romance, etc. Enjoy your week!

Did you get rain yesterday? First day of rain since we moved here first week in May–my dogs were very confused, lol. 🙂

    1. We didn’t get rain yesterday, but had it in the middle of the night on Wednesday, I think. Thunder, too. Very strange.

And I discovered Buried in a Bog after reading your blog, Rita. See how that works?

Our book posts are contagious and we have caught the bug.

Glad you like the books on my post…I am hoping to love them all. Enjoy your week!

Looks like a fun box that you got from Book Journey! Buried in a Bog looks fun, too! If you like that, be sure to link up the review to British Isles Friday — it should go over well, there.

  5. Oh yuck! I hope some cool weather hits you soon. We are typically in the 100s nearly all summer long but only had 2 days over 100 in July and nothing forecasted for August so far. It’s been very strange (we’re in Dallas).

Lots of books for you! I keep hearing about California. Enjoy!

    1. As long as we stay in the low triple digits, I manage…I’ll never forget the summer when we had 114-115 for two weeks in a row! I fled to the coast.

Thanks for stopping by, Trish, and I guess the good news is how close I live to the coast (two hours!).

  6. We’ve actually had cooler weather than normal this week! A week of triple digits isn’t a whole lot of fun but it sounds like you have the right plan on dealing with it! I enjoyed Buried in a Bog but then I love most of Sheila Connolly’s books. I’ve heard good things about Save the Date so I look forward to hearing what you think about it. Looks like you got a fun box from Book Journey! Have a great week!

    1. Thanks, Katherine…I do love having many books to consider when choosing a reading list. I haven’t yet read anything by Sheila Connolly, so I’m looking forward to this one. And I definitely enjoy Mary Kay Andrews.

    1. Thanks for visiting, Bea, and yes, the triple digits are a challenge, but luckily, I have had lots of practice dealing with it. I’ve lived many years in these parts, so as long as the power stays on, I’m good…LOL.

  7. What a fun win from Sheila. I hope you enjoy When the Cypress Whispers and Save the Date as much as I did.
Triple digits? I’ll stop complaining about our humid 80s right now 🙂

    1. I hadn’t heard of any of the books Sheila sent, but now I can find out more.

I have enjoyed Mary Kay Andrews for years, so I’m looking forward to Save the Date. Thanks for visiting, Mary, and triple digits is pretty much the daily normal in the summers around here, but usually it doesn’t go on for too long. One year, it lasted for two weeks and I took off for the beach.

  8. I hear ya about the weather. It has been pretty miserable here too. I’m about halfway through California and liking it so far. The Good Girl looks like a great mystery and Dear Daughter caught my eye too. Great books in your mailbox as always 🙂 Have a good week!

    1. Glad you liked the books you saw, Nise…I love finding new treasures on Mondays, too. Thanks for stopping by, and while I could say we are used to the triple digits, we are not happy about them, either. LOL

Guess that’s the price we must pay for mild winters. Thanks for stopping by.

  9. Sometimes the number of posts you post a week blows my mind!! I wish I was as good as you about posting. Tonight I am trying to get some posts written for this week while I have a moment to sit around and work on my blog. Going to check out some of your posts from this week.

    1. Oh, yes, the AC goes on very early in the a.m. We have a slightly cool breeze in the early morning,, and I leave the window open…but by 8:00 a.m., it’s AC time. Thanks for stopping by, Faith, Hope, & Cherry Tea. Enjoy your week!

  10. Ha! Our week here was rain, rain, gray skies, more rain. Fortunately we are finally getting a bit more sun this weekend!
I’m right in the middle of The Good Girl right now and it’s really intriguing! There’s something a bit different about the writing too, it really hooks you from the start. Can’t wait to see where this is going!
    Happy reading!

  11. I hope you enjoy Cop Town! I thought it was great.
I don’t envy your weather, even though it’s been really cold here! Hope it cools down a bit, that kind of weather makes sleeping and working difficult unless you’re always in air conditioning.

    1. Yes, it’s hard to deal with the heat, but I think it’s probably a small price for the milder winters…compared to what some must suffer through. Thanks for visiting, Sam, and I am eagerly looking forward to Cop Town.

  13. Yuck, triple digit temps! I think the hottest we’ve been this summer was 95 and I waited until late in the day to even walk to my mailbox at the end of our driveway. lol… Congrats on the win and enjoy the new books. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by my Sunday Post

    1. Yes, I have decided to just accept that this is how it is, and grin and bear the high utility bills, knowing that they will go down considerably during our mild winters. Thanks for visiting, Irene, and enjoy your week.

  14. So it’s you who’s keeping the heat, lol ! I’m cold this morning, but it’s supposed to be warmer during the day. Buried in the bog makes me think of a novel by Erin Hart, “Haunted ground”, which was very very good. Have a great week 😉

    1. I think there is a cooling trend this week! Last night it cooled down enough that I didn’t have to have the fan on…but this morning, I had to turn the AC on at 8:00 a.m. …sigh. So we’re still hot.

Thanks for visiting, Lark, and enjoy your books.
