What can I say about life this week? It was very HOT here, with triple digits coming every day, as predictably as the sun that rises. A good week to stay indoors and read. So here’s what my week looked like:

Triple digits… I wouldn’t like that. We have 80’s now and I’m good. 🙂 Buried in a Bog looks like it would be good… and We Were Liars, I was thinking of that one but wasn’t sure. Your review is sort of nudging me towards giving it a try. 🙂

I would love a steady 80s…I could deal with that year round. When I lived in San Francisco, we enjoyed moderate weather, sometimes cool, but that’s okay, too. Thanks for visiting, Greg, and I loved We Were Liars. I also like the look of Buried in a Bog.

Oh Laurel, I am grabbing my notebook because all your titles are so good this week! I want to read California and Dear Daughter, and have to read the second Nicci French in this series to carry on. Great wins this week-what a lovely surprise from Book Journey.
I read Buried in a Bog and am reading her second in the series, Scandal in Skibbereen right now. They’re quiet, easy-reading cozies, but the setting makes them so enjoyable for me. Light breezy, mild mystery, sweet romance, etc. Enjoy your week!
Did you get rain yesterday? First day of rain since we moved here first week in May–my dogs were very confused, lol. 🙂

We didn’t get rain yesterday, but had it in the middle of the night on Wednesday, I think. Thunder, too. Very strange.

Oh yuck! I hope some cool weather hits you soon. We are typically in the 100s nearly all summer long but only had 2 days over 100 in July and nothing forecasted for August so far. It’s been very strange (we’re in Dallas).

As long as we stay in the low triple digits, I manage…I’ll never forget the summer when we had 114-115 for two weeks in a row! I fled to the coast.

We’ve actually had cooler weather than normal this week! A week of triple digits isn’t a whole lot of fun but it sounds like you have the right plan on dealing with it! I enjoyed Buried in a Bog but then I love most of Sheila Connolly’s books. I’ve heard good things about Save the Date so I look forward to hearing what you think about it. I hadn’t heard of any of the books Sheila sent, but now I can find out more.
I have enjoyed Mary Kay Andrews for years, so I’m looking forward to Save the Date. Thanks for visiting, Mary, and triple digits is pretty much the daily normal in the summers around here, but usually it doesn’t go on for too long. One year, it lasted for two weeks and I took off for the beach.

Ha! Our week here was rain, rain, gray skies, more rain. Fortunately we are finally getting a bit more sun this weekend!
I’m right in the middle of The Good Girl right now and it’s really intriguing! There’s something a bit different about the writing too, it really hooks you from the start. Can’t wait to see where this is going!

I think there is a cooling trend this week! Last night it cooled down enough that I didn’t have to have the fan on…but this morning, I had to turn the AC on at 8:00 a.m. …sigh. So we’re still hot.
