Big Little Lies has such an epic cover. LOVE IT! And ugh…I get you with the summer heat and air con bills. Little downside there, but ohh, how I wish for summer. I’m so tired of winter right now and reading all the American’s blogs with their summers? I’M PRETENDING NOT TO BE JEALOUS. Haha! My Sunday Post!

    1. Oh, I know….it must be really annoying to see us complaining about the heat when you’re cold!

For a minute, I almost forgot which book you were referring to with Big Little Lies…since I’ve been reading books with “lies” in the title lately, or “little”…LOL. (Last week it was Little Lies and Little Mercies).

Thanks for visiting, Cait, and enjoy your week!

    1. I have had the Sylvia Plath book waiting patiently on Sparky since last December! I can’t wait to read it now. Thanks for visiting, Katherine, and Little Blessings is good so far. Enjoy your week.

    1. I think Frieda is such an interesting character….I wonder if the author will end this series with Friday? Or will she do the weekend, too? I’ll miss Frieda when the series is over.

Thanks for visiting, Mason, and enjoy your week.

  2. Our summer is cooler than usual (mostly in the 70s this year) so I’m enjoying that!
I don’t think I’ve read a Chamberlain book but that cover makes me want to kiss a baby 🙂

    1. Oh, wow, Mary, there are so many awesome Chamberlain books…I wouldn’t know which one to urge you to try first! LOL.

That baby is definitely adorable. I miss babies…all of my grandkids are teens, or almost teens.

Lucky you with weather in the 70s. When I lived in San Francisco years ago, everything was so much more moderate in temperature. Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting.

  3. Enjoy all those wonderful books and keep cool this week! I have only read Blue Monday by Nicci French, so will be on the lookout for her others. Plus Moriarty and Chamberlain are always go-to reads. Have fun.

    1. Even though I had read some Nicci French (pre-blogging), Moriarty and Chamberlain were post-blogging finds. In fact, my “favorite authors” list keeps growing. Thanks for visiting, Rita, and enjoy!

  4. Thankfully our summer has been fairly mild so far. Yesterday was the first day that broke 100 (at least it was supposed to) and next week we even have one day forecasted in the mid 70s. Unheard of for Dallas! Can’t wait!

Pain, Parties, Work was a fascinating read–I loved it on audio. Enjoy your week! And stay cool!!

  5. The Escape Artist, looks good. Yep, my bill reminded me it is indeed summer too, Time is flying by! I wish it would slow down, so much to do, so little time..not to mention I am not at all looking forward to cold weather again. Have a great week!

Yummmm I love iced tea, peach or raspberry flavours are my favourites. I can drink that all year round, even though it’s cold here in Australia.
Hope you have a great week Laurel and enjoy your new books.

They all look like great reads. I haven’t read a Diane Chamberlain book and do have an actual book sitting on my shelf – just hasn’t made it into my hand as yet. Have a great week.

  9. I’m looking forward to a little bit of warmer weather – when I’m travelling, I hate being loaded with jackets/coats/scarves- detracts from potential shopping space!
I must get into Nicci French, I’ve read lots of good things about her books.

    1. Big Little Lies is next on this week’s list…Small Blessings is turning into such a quiet and charming read that I had to wake up and read some more of it in the middle of the night. Enjoy your week, Teddyree, and thanks for visiting.

    1. It has been years since I read The Bell Jar, I will probably reread it at some point. I see Kindle offerings now and then. Thanks for stopping by, JoAnn…and I am excited about Pain, Parties, Work.

  12. We aren’t having a hot summer. I think I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times we’ve turned on the AC. It pretty much equals the number of times we’ve turned on the heat. It had made for some good reading days though. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  14. Oooh, the next Frieda Klein book. I didn’t know it was published already.

I think you have all the heat this summer and we have all the rain. Yet another cool front came through and we have spring weather now. Flowers and lawns are growing like crazy.

    1. Oh, rain sounds really good! I know…no matter what the weather, I find something more appealing about other kinds of weather…LOL. Thanks for stopping by, Leslie, and I was very excited to get the newest Frieda Klein…I have had my eye on it for a while.
