  1. Looks like a good week, and I think it’s cool you’re working on a project that spun out of a conversation with Rita. Good luck with it!

I’ve seen Mr. Churchill’s secretary at the bookstore and thought it sounded good…

    1. Thanks, Greg…and conversations that spark creativity are the wonderful side effect of blogging, don’t you think? I had put that project aside to finish two other manuscripts, one of which is now out there as a published book, so now may be the time for the “forgotten one.”

I hadn’t realized that Mr. Churchill’s Secretary had a mystery to it…I just grabbed two books off the bargain table, and now I’m eager to dive in.

    1. Oh, I hadn’t realized about Fallen Beauty…I’ll have to check that out, too. Thanks for stopping by, Catherine, and now that you mention it…your blog was where I saw this book Everything I Never Told You! (Among other places, I’m sure). It just kept popping up on my radar.

  2. So many good books here! I’ve just started The Ship of Brides by Jojo Moyes (she’s fast becoming a favorite), but have not heard of Sheltering Rain. Call Me Zelda looks good, too. Downloaded that to my kindle not too long ago when it was a daily deal. Enjoy the rest of the weekend 🙂

    1. Yes, those daily reads suck me into downloading! That’s how I found Sheltering Rain, I think. But since I really enjoy JoJo Moyes, it was a no-brainer. Thanks for visiting, JoAnn, and enjoy your week.

  3. Ha, when Laurel says her blogging was skimpy this week, it is because last week was like reading the Sunday newspaper to get through every post 🙂 You know I am just kidding Laurel, I love to read your posts. I am so glad you are pursuing the book club manuscript. It will have universal appeal around the blogosphere!

I am still waiting for the Gudenkauf book (I just joined a large library not in my immediate town and now have access to great new releases). I have Everything I Never Told You…I can’t resist a coming of age, family in crisis story. Lisa Gardner is always a good read for me. The Collector on my wishlist…I could go on and on. Have a wonderful week.

    1. Oh, thanks, Rita…and I’m happy to have provided you with your “Sunday newspaper.” LOL

I do tend to blog every day, but this week I didn’t, which led to the feeling of “skimpiness.” But I so enjoyed the books that I couldn’t stop!

I started perusing the old manuscript and I have some ideas about how to change things up while retaining the general premise. It should be fun. Thanks for the inspiration!

When I discovered the Lisa Gardner book on the bargain table, I wondered how I could have missed it, so when I got home, I checked Goodreads, to make sure I hadn’t already read it! Does that ever happen to you? Thanks for stopping by.

Woot woot, another of my favourites, so glad you’ll be reading Little Mercies soon. Can’t wait to see what you think. I haven’t read Sheltering Rain but I’ve enjoyed all the Jojo Moyes’ books I’ve read. Have a great week and happy reading 🙂

    1. I am very excited about Little Mercies, too, and I think I’m going to put it at the head of the line for next week! I feel naughty doing that…LOL…. I have also enjoyed JoJo Moyes, and found this older book of hers that sounded good. Thanks for stopping by, Teddyree…have a fabulous week!

    1. Sheltering Rain was on the Kindle dailies one day…and since I’ve loved some other books by this author, I am giving it a whirl. It sounded good, too. Thanks for visiting, Kathy. Enjoy!

    1. Yes, that title drew me in, too, Elizabeth. And I found Mr. Churchill’s Secretary a few months ago and thought it sounded interesting. Little Mercies has been on pre-order for awhile! Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy.

    1. I am enjoying it, Kathy, and after I read a little before bed, I dreamed about it. Twists and turns that haven’t happened; now I’m wondering what will come next, if anything will be like I dreamed it…LOL.

Thanks for sharing your books…and enjoy your week. Glad you could stop by.
