WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES: BOOKS & MOVIES

PicMonkey Collage-updates collage

Good morning!  Today’s post will link up to Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post,  and Book Journey, for What Are You Reading?

**Mailbox Monday is now hosted at the home site:  Mailbox Monday.

This past week has been marked by a memorable kind of reading.  Moments that grabbed me and brought me right into the midst of the stories as I rapidly turned the pages.  One book had been sitting on my TBR Pile since August 2011, I am ashamed to admit.  Its heft was the primary cause: 768 pages.  I am happy to report that I did finish it, along with two shorter books. I also enjoyed going to the movies yesterday, to see a most delightful film with great star power:  August:  Osage County will be one I won’t forget soon.  In fact, I want to order the DVD.

    1. It’s hard not to request a lot of them…but I’m trying to only add the ones I can finish quickly. As it is, I’m probably taking too many, as I need to focus on my TBR piles, too. Thanks for visiting, Harvee, and enjoy.

  1. What a great pile of new books! And one off the TBR pile too! Good for you! I joined the TBR reading challenge just to motivate me to do that and I actually have taken out 4 library books this week instead for other reading challenges! We just never learn!

    Have a great week!

  2. Hey good for you getting that book off your TBR pile. 🙂 And the movie looks good, too, looks like an all- star cast! I always liked Diane Keaton, I’ll bet her book will be a good read.

Thank you for visiting and have a fabulous week.

    1. Thanks, and I don’t know what I was thinking…768 pages! 400-500 pages are manageable, but I try to mix them up with some shorter ones. And back in the day, I read the 1000 + page Gone with the Wind three times, but nowadays, not so much. Thanks for stopping by, Yvonne, and enjoy your week.

    1. Well, there were some funny moments, but in a dark comedy kind of way. When a family is that dysfunctional, you have to laugh…or cry. And yes, drama as only a messed up family can offer us. It was sad, too, but I liked the ending…hopeful? And yes, I see many awards in this film’s future. Thanks for visiting, Susan…hope you enjoy it.

    1. I saw it by myself, Kathy, which is fun when the movie is great….there were so many people in the theater, that it felt I was enjoying it with a crowd…lol. Hope you love it, too.

And I am a big fan of Diane Keaton, so I’m looking forward to this one. Thanks for stopping by.

It feel like such an accomplishment to finishing a ‘big book’ doesn’t it? I hope you enjoy your week and thanks for stopping by my blog.
