Good morning!  Today’s post will link up to Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post,  and Book Journey, for What Are You Reading?

**Mailbox Monday is now hosted at the home site:  Mailbox Monday.

Did everyone have a wonderful holiday season?  I enjoyed spending Christmas with family…and New Year’s quietly at home with movies, snacks, and more movies.  And books.

  1. It looks as if you had a MARVELOUS week. I like how you spent New Year’s Eve with movies and books. 🙂

I like the looks of A Circle of Wives, Clever Girl, and The Neighbors. My book club Before I Go To Sleep…it was quite good.

ENJOY all your reads. Can’t wait to hear what you think of Jubilee’s Journey.

Have a great rest of your weekend.

    1. Thanks, Elizabeth…I am very excited about the New Year’s line-up of books…yet yesterday I watched Netflix most of the day. Today I’ll read…and then I’m going to lunch with my grandson. Enjoy your new week!

    1. I recently read and reviewed The Silent Wife, and someone commented that I might like Before I Go to Sleep…so I had to download it. And so far, I am loving it! So many thriller moments lie ahead. Thanks for stopping by, Christina T.

  2. Glad you had a relaxing New Years- books and movies and snacks sounds pretty great. We did much the same…

I did a double take on the cover of The Neighbors by the way… is that blood dripping from the teapot? Yikes… now that’s a cover. 🙂

    1. I don’t need more stress in my life, I decided. Pressure and deadlines remind me too much of my thirty years in a job that was stressful and demanding and full of deadlines…lol. Thanks for stopping by, Lori, and we do have to remember that reading is supposed to be fun!

    1. I am enjoying it, but I’m reading it along with another, shorter book. Beach Music has almost 800 pages, so I’ll be savoring it for awhile. Thanks for stopping by, Laura, and have a great week.

  3. As you know I loved Paulita’s book. She gifted me her other book ” My Summer In France” I think you read it already. It looks like you will be busy reading this week. This week I’m reading “Undressing Mr. Darcy” So far it seems like a fun read esp. if you are a Jane Austen fan, and I am.

  4. Love the look of all your books, you always have a great mix of genres. Movies, books and snacks on New Years Eve is right up my alley. Saving Ben and Clever Girl caught my eye and I’m looking forward to your thoughts on Before I Go To Sleep, it’s on my TBR pile.

    1. I just finished Before I Go to Sleep…and I’m having that feeling that the character had…as if everything is surreal. (It started when I couldn’t enter URLs into Linkys!). Thanks for visiting, Teddyree.

    1. Yes, when I started reading Beach Music, I didn’t think of it in terms of the Southern Literature Challenge, but only the TBR one (it’s been on my stacks forever!). But he definitely has a Southern “voice,” is a Southern author, and the settings are Southern. Thanks for visiting, Jen.

  5. Great line-up of books to start the new year.

New Years Eve was quiet at my house too. An early dinner out and then some television. I just can’t get excited about crowds and noise anymore.

  6. Oh, no, Tessa Hadley has a new book out???? I haven’t read her last one yet! It’s on my TBR Pile Challenge list. (At least, I hope that’s her last one, maybe I’m even more behind than I think.)
