WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES: READING, EGGNOG, & DECKING THE HALLS

Good morning!  Today’s post will link up to Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post,  and Book Journey, for What Are You Reading?

**Mailbox Monday for December will be at Rose City Reader.

This past week has been quite cold, for these parts, and I’ve enjoyed my reading curled up under afghans.  I’ve done a little bit of Christmas decorating, too, while sipping some eggnog.

Nothing came in my mailbox!  I downloaded two e-books, as Sparky was hungry; one of them had piqued my interest when I started watching the series on Netflix.

  1. Reading, decorating, and eggnog- sounds pretty good! We’ve been cold here too. Hope it warms up soon! I’ve seen Quiet and kinda want to read it, and The Tulip Eaters sounds intriguing as well. Have a great week.

Thanks for stopping by my blog as well.

    1. I like the idea of a book that addresses the needs of “introverted book lovers.” Even though I like socializing, on my terms, I do love nesting and curling up with my books (and my computer!). Thanks for stopping by, Laura.

  2. Looks like a great stack of books for next week! I loved Orange is the New Black, I read it when it first came out- funny thing is that I live where that prison is and I knew one of those prison guards (who was exactly like Piper described him). One of these days I’ll check out the series. Have a great week!

    1. I just finished watching Season One of Orange is the New Black (on Netflix). With 13 episodes, it took two sittings for me to watch it (several hours each time). Looking forward to the book. Thanks for stopping by, Suzanne.

  3. Love the eggnog photo, do you drink it warmed up? Homemade eggnog is a new tradition in our home over Christmas holidays but only chilled 🙂 Looking forward to your thoughts on The Tulip Eaters.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading 🙂

    1. I drink mine cold….and unfortunately, mine isn’t homemade. But I still recall the wonderful homemade eggnog back in the day. Thanks for visiting, Teddyree….

The Tulip Eaters is different than I expected, but I’m enjoying it so far.

    1. Yes, I guess it’s been around awhile…and Orange has, too, although I only discovered it when I signed up for Netflix. I finished watching Season 1 (13 episodes) yesterday, and can’t wait to read the book. Thanks for visiting, Kathy, and have a great week.

  4. My sister has been recommending Quiet to me. I really must download it and get with it. I also have been looking at Orange is the new Black too. Guess I’ll check out Amazon or Bookbub. Thanks for sharing. ps: eggnog sound yummy, I haven’t had any yet.

  5. Quiet was my bookclub’s December read. We had an interesting discussion and learned a bit about ourselves.

It’s absolutely freezing here. We get this kind of cold every year, but not this early in the season. It isn’t even winter for another week! Hot chocolate is helping though. 🙂

  6. Thanks for the tip on Orange is the New Black; it sounds like you think it’s good. Enjoy the eggnog this week! My e-reader is named Merlin … and he’s always disappearing, lol

    1. Oh, that’s a great name for your e-reader. I’ll bet lots of people name their devices. I even named my laptop: Louisa May (Alcott).

Thanks for visiting Susan, and after watching Orange is the New Black, I am even more eager to read the book.
