This week was one of upended plans and serendipitous moments. You know the kind…you’re planning one thing, and then it doesn’t work out, and you are on a road to rediscovering spontaneity.
One of my spontaneous events was a midweek showing at the movies. I saw The Family, with Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert DeNiro: A riveting story about a mob family hiding out in the Witness Protection program…and how they cannot quite stay hidden.
That shook up my week just enough that it felt as though I’d been on a little trip somewhere.

Glad you are enjoying the change in color outside. We never have that here, but, happily, we awoke to a cooler world this morning. Maybe autumn has arrived along the Texas Gulf Coast, too. One can always hope.

The Whole Golden World is on my wishlist. I want to read that one! Glad you enjoyed going to the movies. It’s fun to just up and do something. I don’t know much about that movie except I like both the lead actors’ work, but I have had fun in the past reading books about the witness protection program. Enjoy your week.

My daughter loved it, so I thought I’d give it a try. And I was not disappointed. What made the event so much fun for me was the spontaneity in doing it midweek, and having a martini at the neighborhood bistro before going into the theater. Like a little vacation.

The Whole Golden World looks interesting, and I am glad you enjoyed the movie. I am a homebody so a trip to the movies always feels like I went on a mini vacation or adventure too..LOL It is cold and rainy here today, we lit the fireplace last night..yep fall is here!

Rain from Tropical Storm Karen has made it feel like fall here. The leaves are really getting serious about turning and it was really too chilly this evening for a run in my summer clothes but I toughed it out anyway. I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year. It’s so beautiful I love it, but I hate that it means winter is getting closer. Enjoy your week!

I love fall colors, unfortunately, here the leaves are already falling off threes, without the colors having been achieved yet 😦 oh, well, it also means we’ve had pretty nice weather so far 🙂

I don’t like the falling leaves…the gardeners blow them off the lawns and paths and right onto my patio, where I have a big stack to clear out every week…GRRR.
Why don’t they have gardening tools that suck the leaves up instead of just blowing them out somewhere else? My rant for the day.
