  1. Wow looks like you’ve had a busy week. I saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower movie, but sadly it didn’t inspire me to read the book–even though I know books are usually infinitely better than their movie counterparts. Hope you enjoy all of your book though! Happy reading!

There are SEVERAL new-to-me books here that I hope to check out soon, most notably…Happy All the Time and Diary of a Wildflower. Thanks for the introduction 🙂

I had not realized it was the middle of September until you made note. Oh my… where does the time go???

    1. Being in the middle of September reminds me of how close we are to the end of the year…again. And while I love fall, and even winter, a little….I am never eager for the holidays. Too much stress!

Thanks for stopping by, Molly…glad to see you back in the blogosphere.

    1. Yes, but I feel like I’ve been waiting for it for ages. I am always excited when a new one comes out…and now we only have three more letters in the alphabet.

Thanks for stopping by, Voracious Reader…hope you do get caught up.

    1. I don’t usually read YA books…but when I committed to reviewing a banned book for the week, and saw that one on the list, I thought it was like a sign…lol.

Thanks for stopping by, Kimba, and enjoy your week…and a tattoo, huh? Now I’m intrigued.

Oooh I’ll be interested to read your review on The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I just cheated this weekend and watched the movie which I quite liked.

Hope you have a great week.

    1. I still haven’t seen the Perks movie…tried to find it yesterday…And A Dark Mind is very good. Unfortunately, I was reading it before I went to sleep…and had scary dreams…lol. Thanks for stopping by, Lucy.

  6. I started reading the Sue Grafton books years ago and only got to E. I really need to go back and catch up. She’s going to be at a book signing near me this Friday, so I’m planning on going – maybe that will get me back on her books!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by my blog!

  7. A Dark Mind looks interesting to me. I wish I could read Grafton’s series, but seriously, she is up to W and I would be at A, I don’t know–daunting. Could her books be read out of order–say if I jumped in at a later letter in the middle of alphabet? Just wondering. Good stack of books here this week. Will check them out further.

    1. Oh, it is very captivating, Rita…and as for Grafton’s books, I believe that you could start near the end…just enough to familiarize yourself with her style and the character. Because each book is like a stand-alone, except for the MC. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. I can relate to back problems…you can’t really think about much else when that pain is going on. I hope it improves…and thanks for stopping by. I read Perks for the Banned Book week event….and I’m glad I read it, Nise.

  8. Forgot to mention last week, I love how you’ve combined the memes. Is that a new Nora Roberts book? will have to check it out. I was offered Sinnerman but I just couldn’t squeeze it in, will be interested to see what I missed out on lol
Have a great week and happy reading 🙂

    1. Oh, thanks, Teddyree…I got tired of writing separate posts, but wanted to participate in all of them.

And the Nora Roberts book is not new…but someone on a blog wrote about how the setting of this one was Sedona…and I LOVE Sedona…Thanks for stopping by, and I hope I enjoy Sinnerman.

I was going to cut down on blog tours…and I guess I have, but not enough! lol

    1. I think she has slowed down between books to ward off that feeling…just guessing. Although she did bring out that lovely collection last year called Kinsey and Me.

I think you could pick right up anywhere…Kinsey is the common denominator, and each book seems to stand alone. Thanks for stopping by, Jen, and have a good week.

    1. I thought I could just go On Demand and find it….it was there for the longest time. But it was gone! Oh, well. I guess I could rent the DVD.

I did enjoy the book, Shoshanah, and my review will be up on Saturday (at An interior Journey).

  9. Hi Laurel-Rain,

As usual, you have a fantastic selection of genres and titles this week, almost too many to take in. The covers which particularly caught my eye were ‘Cold Winter Rain’ and ‘Sinnerman’ and both had equally intriguing premises to match. I am also tempted by ‘A Dark Mind’, although that one might be just a bit too dark and disturbing, even for me!

I hope that you get to enjoy them all and if you are looking for a way to cool down, a nice trip to the UK might be in order, where the weather has turned wet, stormy and distinctly autumnal this week.

  10. most of my boys (now men) read Perks of Being a Wallflower, and they all said it was a great book. I have the movie sitting around here, but just haven’t watched it yet. Need to. 🙂

  11. I see the new Grafton book is out already and I’m stuck somewhere in the middle of the alphabet!

I was planning on reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower for banned books week. The school board at the Jr High in my neighborhood banned it (briefly) but eventually came to their senses and returned it to the library after student protests and online petitions.

    1. You could always jump ahead…they don’t have to be read in order, IMO. Thanks for stopping by, Leslie…and enjoy your week. I will be posting my review of Perks on Saturday.

It is difficult to imagine how so many of the books I loved in childhood (and now) are (or were) banned. People are so afraid, aren’t they?
