Good morning!  Today’s post will link up to Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post, and Mailbox Monday! (July will be Book Obsessed)

Another week of steaming hot weather, reaching 110 on more than one day.  I took an early walk in the morning (the only time when it’s cool enough is around 7 a.m.), and enjoyed the trees.

Much of my time was spent indoors, so that means I did some reading and blogging.

    1. I’m very excited about all of my review books….and eager to begin them. Actually I’ve read and reviewed three of them from last week.

Thanks for visiting, Jenea…enjoy your week.

    1. I actually have more than 24. I had challenged myself to read 24 of the TBRs this year, and I’ve read 16 of that total. I have seven Old TBR books in the pile, and an additional 20 or so on the pile (including Sparky). I’ve been working really hard to finish the books that are lingering….Of course, new books come in all the time, so it’s a constant game of catch-up. Thanks for stopping by, Bryan.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Belle…I hope to read Sisterland next week. I got a little greedy and ended up requesting nine Vine review books! I have read three of them so far. Enjoy your week.

  1. I don’t know how you stand those high temperatures! We’re in the 90’s with high humidity and I can’t take it!

I have the Monk book for review too. I never watched the show but this looked like fun. Hope you have a great week!

  2. Monk is my favorite TV show ever. I’ve read one of the books, and I thought it was okay, but I wasn’t madly in love with it. I should try another one though.

Anyway, enjoy your goodies and happy reading 🙂

    1. Me, too, Kathy…I’ve been a big fan since I read the book she published as a teenager. And I enjoyed another book by the author of Sisterland (American Wife).

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your week.

  3. I’m having trouble getting past the temp of 110. Scorching! Can’t even sit by a pool with that kind of heat. I enjoyed Something About Sophie and am looking forward to reading Sisterland.

    1. Oh, I’m glad you enjoyed Something About Sophie.

I have a hard time with those temps, too. Every year, I dread summer. Yes, air conditioning is great, but staying indoors is not fun. Except, of course, I can make it outdoors from 6-8 a.m. (And the electric bills are humongous!).

At least I’ve confirmed that the plumbers next door are not shutting off the water today! Yay!

Thanks for visiting, Leslie, and enjoy your week.

      1. We had that kind of a summer last year. Gardening, walking, everything had to be done by 8am or else I’d melt. This year it’s cool and rain, rain, rain.

  4. Great haul! I am so curious about Sisterland. I have heard great things about Curtis Sittenfeld before and this one sounds particularly good! Happy reading!

    1. A challenging task, Anna…but once I’ve chosen my books for the week, I allow impulse to step in. I grab whichever one suits my mood of the moment. But I might choose one of the review books first, of course.
