Welcome to Sunday Salon, our place to gather and share our weekly wrap-up and muse about the upcoming week.
With January already winding down rapidly, I find myself lost in books and blogging.
And while gathering together old photos from my albums, I came upon this one that I shared in the Saturday Snapshot post.
It’s a photo of my daughter and me at the end of 1978, the year I was winding up my master’s degree and writing my thesis.
It has been a week of blogging, too.Β My topic on Musing Mondays:Β Book Recently Purchased; I did a Cozy Monday post asking What Captures Your Imagination Today?; on Wednesday, I explored Thoughts from the Interior of My Blogging Journey; my Hump Day Potpourri was all about Endings & New Beginnings; at Curl up and Read, I announced my Giveaway Winner; my Friday Potpourri was about Dreaming Bookish Thoughts.
I did some excerpts and showcased interiors at Story Corner:Β Exploring Interiors:Β Images & Excerpts; and my Sweet Saturday Sample featured A Collision of the Past and Present.
My reading has knocked two books off of Mt. TBR for that challenge; and to avoid further cluttering of the shelves, I borrowed books from the library.
Books Read-Click Titles/Covers for Reviews:
1.Β That Old Cape Magic, by Richard Russo (Toppled off of Mt. TBR)
2.Β The Carrie Diaries, by Candace Bushnell (Another one off of Mt. TBR)
3.Β The Eighth Wonder (e-book), by Kimberly Young (Review will be posted on 2/28/13 at Rainy Days and Mondays)
4.Β Gods of Alabama, by Joshilyn Jackson

And now I’m going to start reading The Sandcastle Girls, by Chris Bohjalian.Β I’ll also be watching some movies on my DVR.Β
Earlier today, I watched Hope Springs.
What will your day bring?Β Plans?Β Hopes?
WOW Kudos to you doing your masters while being a mom! My Sunday is going to be a calm one, catching up with reading.

Thanks, Carol…and yes, it was a bit challenging. I did most of the classes at night, while working days…and the mom thing got squeezed in there with all the rest…lol
A calm Sunday is good…I enjoy calm after the hectic years!!

That sounds like a busy week. I was busy with work work work until the snow fell, so now I am holed up at home warm under a blanket but still torn between books and TV. I think I might need a more engrossing book! Have a good week.

Yes, I do like to alternate between books and movies. I can’t seem to do just on or the other. Thanks for visiting, Nose in a book…enjoy your weekend.

My day will bring plans…you already saw my blog post so you know about them. π And hopes…I hope to take a nap as I do most Sundays and be able to read some more graphic novels later today.
As for gods in Alabama, it was one of my favorite books when I read it…and I still like it. I’m glad you liked it too.

I just took a nap, after reading awhile; there’s something about Sundays that seems to call for it. Thanks for stopping by, Bryan, and enjoy your week!

You had a busy week. Love the 1978 pic! I watched Hope Springs and thought it was great. I’ve been wondering about The Carrie Diaries since I used to like watching Sex and the City. Have a great week!

Thanks, Yvonne…about the picture. I actually liked The Carrie Diaries a lot more than I thought I would. Some YA is more enjoyable than others, I guess.
Hope Springs was one I saw at the theater, but enjoyed it even more at home. I like watching movies on the DVR…maybe it’s being able to pause the movie!
Glad you could stop by…enjoy your week.

I felt cold today, so I snuggled under a blanket….but then I went out to the library and the supermarket, and the sun was out. I also had a nap earlier….
Thanks for stopping by, Deb.

I’ve heard really good things about the Sandcastle Girls book. I hope you had a good day of reading! We went out to lunch as a family and then put our feet up the rest of the day. I fell asleep reading on two separate occasions. All in all a perfect Sunday!
