Welcome to the first Sunday Salon in January. By now, most of you have already joined some reading challenges and written posts to wrap up 2012.
You may have also made some resolutions for the New Year.
Most of my blogging activity this week has been about those very topics.
But before we get started on that, I want to share my celebration of my youngest grandson Noah’s tenth birthday today (Jan. 5).
Here he is having a pancake breakfast with his mom. She’s not in the photo, as she’s behind the camera.
I feel happy just looking at his face. I shared more photos of him over at today’s Saturday Snapshot post.

Happy New Year Laurel-Rain. I like your grandson’s hat. This week we had a quiet new year celebration then struggled with going back to work after 10 days off. Is it always this hard? I’d forgotten. Or maybe I needed a rest more this year. Hope you have a great January.

Thanks, Nose in a book….I remember how hard it was to get back into the routine after the holidays. It’s not the same when you’re living a “free lance” life. Enjoy the feeling of renewal, and I’m glad you could stop by.

I like the new design here. Very nice.
As always, I enjoy the photos of your grandchildren, especially to see how happy they make you. 🙂
Today, no reading as I’m at my parents, but maybe tonight when I get home. Tomorrow, as you already know from stopping by my blog, I’l be continuing with A Tale of Two Cities.

Thanks for the visit, Bryan, and I’m glad you like the design. I definitely see it as fitting for the tone and retro feel of the site.
I’ve already finished the book I’m reading for the day (There Was an Old Woman); I couldn’t put it down.

I agree, Molly; I still think about that NaNoWriMo we both did in 2010. It’s hard to believe it’s been that long!
Thanks for stopping by, and yes, I love Noah’s smile.
