Happy Sunday and welcome to another Sunday Salon!
I can’t believe it, but we actually had a little rain yesterday. Unfortunately, it was a hot, muggy rain. No cool down at all.
But I kept close to home and watched some movies and finished reading my FIFTH book of the week. Yes, I was eager to finish it…it was awesome!
So here’s how the week went down. There was a bit of non-meme blogging and in case you missed any of them:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HEATHER (and I changed the look of that blog quite a bit. You might find it fun);
THE CANDIDATE-An excerpt from Embrace the Whirlwind, over at My Forest Journey;
THE BLISSFUL SLIDE TO AUTUMN (with an excerpt, at Story Corner);
ROW 80 CHECK-IN: A BOOKISH BLOGGING WEEK (at Creative Journey)
SWEET SATURDAY SAMPLE: SHARING ROMANTIC MOMENTS (an excerpt at Snow Chronicles)
SATURDAY SNAPSHOT: EUROPEAN STYLE
SUNDAY POTPOURRI: LIFE & BLOG CHANGES
Reading: (Click Book Titles/Covers for Reviews)
1. You Are the Love of My Life (e-book), by Susan Richards Shreve (loved this one!)
2. Small Damages, by Beth Kephart (gorgeous read!)
3. Drowning Ruth, by Christina Schwarz (memorable!)
4. Jackie After O, by Tina Cassidy
5. Real Life and Liars (e-book), by Kristina Riggle (awesome read!)
***
And that wrapped up a week of blogging and reading…and to top it all off, I traipsed down memory lane yesterday with an older movie that I love because of its connection to blogging….
Julie & Julia was just as much fun yesterday as it was the first ten or so times I watched it! lol
What are your Sunday plans? I hope you’ll come on by and share some tidbits about your week.
What a fantastic week!!!! I love that movie too!

I miss movies… life has been so busy! Al and I sat down to watch one last night after a long day and I fell asleep before 8:30 pm… he teased me – A LOT!

I’m familiar with falling asleep during movies, which is why I usually watch them in the early afternoon. Even at the theater, I prefer matinees. Thanks for stopping by, Sheila.

Yay for rain! I hope that this next week is just as good for you. Today we did some clothes shopping for our boys, and it’s just the regular “get ready for the week” chores now (and hopefully some time for reading).

After yesterday’s brief rain, it got hot again. I was reading and watching movies, and my daughter came over with Noah, who has strep throat and can’t go to school tomorrow or until he’s better. So he’s here for the duration. His fever is down a bit after the dose of Motrin and Amoxicillin…and is eating scrambled eggs. Hopefully he will feel better soon.
Thanks for stopping by, Alyce…and now I’m off to check the sick little guy.

I’m sorry the rain didn’t cool things down for you. I hope you’ll get a break from the heat soon. Jackie After O sounds good. I enjoyed the Julie & Julia movie, but I like anything with Meryl Streep. Have a great week!

Oh, so do I, Yvonne. I was also watching Sophie’s Choice earlier today, which is a really sad one. I am always amazed at how well Meryl does accents.
Thanks for visiting…and enjoy your evening.

I love watching Julie & Julia; makes me envious that I can’t cook and also makes me want to start cooking so I can make the dishes Julia Child made famous. It also makes me feel better that she, Julia Child, didn’t really learn to cook until she was in her 40s.
I have heard good things about Small Damages.

I can’t imagine how Julia managed to do all that eating (sometimes late at night) and yet not appear to have put on weight…..(lol). I think I would have been like a very round pudding by the end of it

Oh, me too, Kheenand…I can get that way just eating take-out and microwaveable meals! Imagine what all that butter would do! lol

After such a good week, it was inevitable that new challenges would await…my grandson has strep throat and has been staying here for two days while his mom works.
Alas…not much reading! Thanks for stopping by, Susan…and enjoy.
