The beginning made me laugh a little…and as for the excerpt on p. 56, I am always up for secrets.

  2. I will definitely have to find some time to read this one! I read Getting Over It and Running in Heels about 10 years ago and I loved them both. Her protagonists are so funny and endearing and always make the most acute observations about human nature exposing all of our little quirks and habits–I think. Enjoy!

  4. While this is not my style of book, I do like the beginning and the 56. I hope the book is all you wish it to be. I do know about things finally getting to the top of my TBR mountain though. That seems to be how I’m picking all my books lately. Happy reading!

  8. Hi Laurel Rain,

    I have, of course, heard of Anna Maxsted before, but I have to confess to not having actually read either of the two previous books which you mention. This book does however beg to be included on my reading list, so I am sure to get to it at some point in the future. Although the note in the opening lines sounds as though it comes from an organised person, it just doesn’t sound like the kind of thing that Cassie would say, whereas your second line about keeping a secret, does sound like a coment she would make. Very intriguing and a great share, thanks. Yvonne
