Good morning, and welcome to The Sunday Salon, our gathering place for sharing our reading and blogging week…and our lives.

Life:

This past week has been full of various appointments and errands, so my reading was done “on the fly” a lot.  Plus, my youngest grandson was ill and had to stay all day on Wednesday.  Poor little guy is up and feeling better now, though.

Some of my blogging activities included my final post for the first round of Row 80, during which I finished the first draft of the WIP that was my focus during this round.  Next I’ll be doing some major editing.

My Saturday Snapshot was pulled from my photo albums, and featured my oldest grandson as a toddler.

It’s been very rainy for the past few days, so it’s the perfect day for reading and movies.

    1. Thanks for visiting, Deb…I have barely begun with In Cold Blood, spending most of yesterday reading, and then reviewing, CeeCee Honeycutt.

      So far, the book is filled with background details, which I know are important, but somewhat…boring.

      It should pick up soon, though, so I’m off to keep reading.

  6. The Four Ms. Bradwells is n my wish list! and In Cold Blood has always intrigued me–so sad the writing of this book was the beginning of Capote’s downward spiral. I am sure I will end up reading it someday!

    Your grandson was lucky boy to get to come stay with Grandma–glad he is feeling better.

    1. Oh, I know, Kim…I think I read or heard somewhere that he became so obsessed with this book that he lost all focus for anything else…I think he became overly fascinated with the perpetrators.

      I’m enjoying it so far, after a slow start.

      Yes, I’m glad to be able to take care of my grandson when he’s ill…when my kids were little, I had nobody to help out living nearby; I always had to miss work.

  7. I read In Cold Blood years ago and enjoyed it. I don’t know if I would now or not, but as I remember, it was a challenge — but I think in a good way.

    As for what I’m reading, I’m working my way through the Harry Potter series and am up to the Goblet of Fire.

  8. I think it’s wonderful that you watch your grandson when he’s not well. I used to stay at my grandma’s when I wasn’t well and couldn’t go to school, and I have a lot of fond memories of watching game shows all day long with her.

    1. Oh, thanks, Alyce…I like hanging out with him (and my other grandkids). He does watch a lot of TV and play a lot of video games…but then again, when he’s sick, he should do what feels good.

    1. Thanks, Kimberly…I can’t believe that he is already almost sixteen years old!

      I wonder if he would be embarrassed to see this photo on my blog? LOL

      I do enjoy pulling photos from my albums. And, as for the blogs, I haven’t added any new ones in awhile…just changed the headers, themes, etc.

      I blog on one or more of them everyday, but not everyday on all of them…if that makes sense.

  10. Ooh I loved In Cold Blood. Such an interesting story. I’ve been having a very all over the place kind of week and I doubt it’s going to get much better for a little while. Ah well, it’s fun to be busy but I do wish I had a few rainy afternoons with my books…
