FIRST SUNDAY SALON OF 2011 — JAN. 2

Wow!  Here we are with the first Sunday Salon of the New Year!

It’s time to reflect on the past year and plan for 2011.  I’ve posted on several sites about that particular activity.  Here are a few of those reflections:

Risk-Taking Yields Great Rewards

Favorite Books of 2010

Year-End Wrap-Up

Weekend Potpourri:  Resolutions

All I can say is that 2010 was quite a ride! I read more than usual, I documented more of what I did, and I enjoyed myself thoroughly—mainly because of the connections formed through the blogging community.

I’ve made a few plans for 2011 which I hope will only improve things.  My challenges will have their own pages on Curl up and Read.  There are pages on that site for books read, books purchased, and review books received.

I’ve learned how to organize my blogs better from watching all of you out there in the community.  Which reminds me:  Bloggiesta is coming again this month!  Another great place to learn new bloggy tricks.

But before I digress too much, let’s talk about this past week in reading.

My Kindle was a new addition to my reading world, so one of the books I read and reviewed was on my new toy!

Books Read and Reviewed – (Click Titles for Reviews):

1)  Letting Go, by Nancy Kaiser

2)  Rescue (e-book), by Anita Shreve

3)  The Pursuit of Alice Thrift, by Elinor Lipman (First Completed Book in 2011!)

Happy New Year, and may all the days of this new adventure bring peace, joy, and great books!  I hope you’ll stop by and share some of your own 2010 events and 2011 plans.

    1. Yes, it was, Mason…thanks for stopping by. I do hope that, in my second full year of blogging, I can face my challenges in a more organized fashion. I hope to continue connecting with all the wonderful bloggers out there!

      Happy New Year.

Yay for getting a Kindle! I’m still thinking about getting one, each time I see someone with one I want one. One of these days!! Until then I’ll just add Letting go to my goodreads list!

    1. I was still on the fence about getting a Kindle, Jen, but then when my daughter gifted me with it at Christmas, that pretty much decided the debate…LOL.

As always, new technology astounds me in the beginning, but after a few hurdles (like passwords I had to retrieve), I got connected, registered, and then…voila! The buying part is very easy. Naturally…LOL.

Thanks for stopping by; I just clicked over to your blog, too, and I’ll be visiting this year. Hope you’ll come back here, too. In case you didn’t know, I have fourteen blogs, but you can find them all on my blogs page here:

    1. Thanks, Andrea…I have to sit on my hands to keep from clicking on that darned store! LOL It’s so easy to buy.

I have five books on it already, and I want to wait before ordering more…but if there’s a great deal, well, all bets are off.

  2. How cool that you got a kindle! I would like to participate in Bloggiesta, but am usually too busy. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to set some time aside for it this year because I do have some blog upkeep that would be nice to catch up on.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Alyce…the great thing about Bloggiesta is that we can do as much or as little as we choose….That works for me.

And, of course, with as many blogs as I have, I usually choose to focus on only one for this event.

  3. Happy New Year! Congrats on the Kindle. I have a Nook and love it. I think I might be participating in Bloogiesta this year too. There’s a lot of stuff I’ve been meaning to update and never got around to doing it.

    1. I’m looking forward to it, too, Amy. I’ve spent a lot of time this year merging and deleting some blogs and creating new ones. While I think I’ve got the sidebars “under control,” there’s always something….

Thanks for stopping by. I’m loving the Kindle!

  5. I desperately need Bloggiesta as I am about 6 months behind on blog maintenance 🙂

I’m so glad that you had such a wonderful 2010 – and I hope that 2011 is even better!

    1. Me, too, Molly…I did a lot of blog merging, while deleting some; I also created new ones. It’s easy to overlook things…

Thanks for stopping by, and I was actually pleasantly surprised by my 2010 reading stats. I should do better with the challenges this year, as I’ve incorporated them all into my Curl up and Read site, with separate pages for each.
